2017 BRZ Performance Package Brembo Brakes Part Numbers

I know how brakes work. I've been around all forms of race vehicles.
I figured out what rotors I need.

The pads wasn't the issue. Rotors rusting is or I should say was the issue. I bought a set of aftermarket dimpled and slotted 2017 WRx STi rotors(redrilled myself) and cleaned up the OEM pads. The car will stand on the front bumper now. I've made fifteen hard stop at speed with no fading.

Read through this whole thread to find this. That is not affordable. The rotor and pad prices are bonkers.

Really seems like the best choice is Essex. I live in the North so I'll take em off in the winter so I can run 16" snows.

The best choice if buying is to make sure it has the performance package. All that for $1K...... But wait there is more, You also get accepatble wheels that do not need replaced. (At least for me, I like the PP wheels) I am 99% positive they will hold 245/40R17 PSS just fine. And if you buy now they will throw in some better struts that do not need to be replaced the day you drive off the lot for free.

Minimum 8" wheel w/ Recommended 8.5" width. 7.5" is a bit too narrow for that size tires.

Ok you have all pointed to infor that I have already been thru. Moving a bead in .250 per side to me is not that much change. If you measure my wheels and tires now the tread at least .500 less that the rim. The specs on this tire is 1.1 wider than stock. With those mesurements that puts it around square. BMW put a 245 on a 7.5 inch rim stock. When you search tribal knowledge you get about a 70% it will fit to a 30% you will die. Of those numbers the 70%, 10% had done it with no issues, 0% stated they did not. Out of the 30%, 0% had any knowlage other than manufacturer recommendations.
Anyway lets get back to Brembo talk.

Like I stated before, If you are buying new there is no reason not to spend the 1K on the performance package. To me that was a deal killer.

Like I stated before, If you are buying new there is no reason not to spend the 1K on the performance package. To me that was a deal killer.

You can do it, but you'll get a very vague feel out of the steering wheel, and you'll get a ton of sidewall movement, resulting in sloppy response and a very quick overheating of your tire due to sidewall flex.

Not recommended unless it's for a very specific application and that's the only way you can be competitive.

I'll have to take a closer look. The Brembos are gorgeous but it's tough to beat the sexy ass 2-piece rotors that also only cost $165 bucks to replace.

I have run 245 PSS in a 7.5" wheel (17" and +45 offset, so very close to PP wheels). Dont do it, its awful, the car doesnt feel responsive at all, there is a lot of flex in the tire, I was marginally faster (like less than 1sec) than I was on the 215 Primacys. If you want a "soft cadillac ride" on the street, then yes, thats what it might feel like, but if you expect better performance out of them, I'd say stick with 215-225 in a 7.5" wheel (PSS is still a decent choice for street, but I'd pass them for track driving).
