Did those bolts need to be changed because of clearance problems with the stock overpipe heat shield?

JDL took the header back to the jig and adjusted it because the few initial ones rattled against the guard. It is no longer happening and the flex braid sections do not rattle or crack either.

Please can you post a graph also comparing before/after to your best pump tune on a stock car?

Did you swap out the bolt, or just put a washer on it? Mine were like that too...and I was a little concerned but didn't really feel anything when checking for leaks.

I need to replace my JDL UEL header anyways since i'm the one with the old flexes that make noise, and also running the one that hit the skid plate, so I can swap it out when I finally get the new header.

Hey guys. I am the owner of the car and I am very happy with the results.
The car should have came with this kinda power stock plus I get that true Subaru sound like my old wrx had. It's fantastic.

Nothing in the install process needed any modifications. Pretty perfect fit IMHO. I also checked the flanges against a straight edge and it was dope.

See OP :

Quote:
Installation was pretty straight forward - other than making sure you're on a lift to do it properly, there weren't any issues... until we started up. The supplied bolts weren't cutting it and a small exhaust leak resulted where the header flange met with the stock overpipe. No biggie. Went to the bolt bin, sourced out another 2 smaller ones and the issue was rectified in minutes.

^^^ 4th Gear Pull : Alleviates (not eliminate) the torque dip from 3200RPM but gives you the top end to red line! Almost 190WHP and 150#s TQ! To date, this has been the highest performing UEL that we've tested (between Borla / RevWorks) and all this on a STOCK exhaust system too!
Cheers!

I'm glad the dyno did so well because I also purchased one. I love the sound and as soon as I have time to get it tuned I'll post my numbers in my build thread.

@stockysnail - Take that thing up to Bod @Drift-Office. The conversation will be worth the gas and only cost $100 more for a guy who has tuned more 86's than anyone. He will do it on ECUTEK but at least you can buy a cable and log on a laptop. BRZ Edit will leave you at the mercy of PRE. Just sayin...

@Drift-Office

I think you may have misunderstood, I already saw that graph in your first post. Can you please confirm if the baseline/before run was 100% stock or running your tune?

If completely stock, did you try one of your tunes on it before fitting & tuning the new exhaust manifold?

Thanks.

The header was installed right after we got done with the baseline and was 100% stock. Outside the header, the final run had the AVO Panel Filter in it.

In regards to putting one of my NA tunes on it, I already know the results of that. I'll be doing a UEL that way soon - baseline stock, then stage 1 tune and then header install and tune.

Regards,
