For what it's worth, at 30psi on a 62mm I never went 9's or 10's on a stock trans. You can only make so many attempts on a stock trans when you have good traction. 500+ on a supercharger, even with a good shot on it is pretty out there. You need to be trapping like 135+

I assume 10 hard pulls at 350+ torque the tranny is done.

Your better off swapping in a 2jz. Will be cheaper in the long run

I also see you listed a clutch with a street disc that you're going to buy. That's not gonna cut it for the amount of torque you're gonna make to run 9's. You're going to need a pucked clutch, or better yet a twin disk.

Have 20K laying around to get you started then start spending that 20k with people who know how to make a fa20 stay together. Then figure out how transfer all that power down to the ground 9s is no easy task. I went to the track to play and test my new setup nothing like boiling the tires in 5 gears and running 12s at 133mph lol
and that was only 29psi not the 35 its capable of.

Was you time in the low or high 12s. Just interested in seeing some other times that aren't horrible. And have you got any dyno numbers.

Thanks for the info but I have been looking at other Clutch setups like a twin disk but this is my street car right now. Should be picking up a new car when the engine comes out of this one. And I was uncertain what I was going to do with the trany. I saw that fbm has workeed on a supra trany conversion for this engine and they offer a twin disk.

Well to save money, instead you could go with a clutch like this http://www.advancedclutch.com/sb8-xtg6

It will hold a lot more TQ than a street disc but will still be streetable. Just takes a little getting used to. I daily drove my other car with this clutch for quite a few years and it really wasn't bad at all.

They are still untested. The trans shop we deal with installed a set for another shop but they had fitment issues that had to be worked out. Guessing that's why they are on back order, Par is still sorting that out. Biggest downfall is that if you break it, you're screwed. That's why we didn't get them for testing. Our guy is working on a set from another company, a helical cut set. Timeframe is unknown. I plan on running 9's, we are doing a pretty nasty auto swap in my car for the task. The manual just won't cut it for what I want my car to do

What it takes to get to 9sec wiht an FA20 engine

Vid from the old 10 sec record run showing the parts (They are still making the vid of the 9 sec pass) they have a sequential transmission as well.

Fiebruz sounds like a great supplier. Their coilovers have "32 levels of dampening". It really wets my appetite for a pair.
