I'm going to call it a blown end bearing on the mid-shaft. It goes away in fifth because the mid-shaft isn't loaded. The input shaft is coupled directly to the output.

This is the same problem I have. I took off the afternoon to finish my trans swap. I hope to start digging into mine this coming week.

On swapping them out and moving them around, for a 200 HP engine, this transmission seems very light, IMHO. I am amazed that the boosted folks aren't leaving trails of parts everywhere.

That is what I was chalking it up to. I've got a used tranny with 2k coming tomorrow so I'll get that swap done over after the long weekend (need a break before I break it).

Let me know how yours goes.

I knew boosting it would cause some increased wear but man some of this is getting out of hand.

While doing the tranny swap today I found a ball from a bearing stuck to the drain plug. Think I know what the problem was. @Ultramaroon @Tcoat thanks for your help.
