Transmission Grinding Noise

I have a grinding noise when the clutch is engaged. It happens N-1-2-3-4 but is is 5-6. I replaced the clutch, release bearing, and tranny fluid. Noise is still there. I took a video and will attach when I have a chance to upload. I though I might be a synchro or another bearing in the transmission but not sure what. Tranny fluid had no metal flakes and looked as clean or cleaner from other posts on here.

Before the comments come in I have searched and haven't seen this issue yet.

Car now has exedy stage 1 clutch, fa20 club turbo, and AEM meth injection. Noise started 1 year after turbo on stock clutch.

Post up the clip and we'll give it a listen.

My crystal ball tells me it may be a bad pilot bearing .......:iono:

Would the pilot bearing not make noise even when the clutch was disengaged?

Unless the forces of the clutch are causing it...

Very loud neutral rollover. What do you hear when it's in gear? Can you have someone take a clip of you rowing through the gears?
@humfrz was teasing because without a clip we need his crystal ball. It was wrong this time.

Please elaborate on how it sounds for each gear. Your OP is unclear about that.

Sorry for the limited video, its very illegal to run a phone and drive in Ontario ($500 and 2 points). It sounds identical through 4th, its gone in 5th, and low rpm in 6 sounds different still.

I'm a but nervous to drive it. I've sourced a used tranny with 2k km on it to swap it out while I rebuild this one.

Yep, you're right!

After I turned my crystal ball "right side up" it said this:

"When the clutch is disengaged, the transmission’s input shaft and the engine’s crankshaft are rotating at different speeds. The pilot bearing allows for this difference. This is why a faulty pilot bearing makes its most noise when the clutch pedal is completely depressed and the clutch itself is completely disengaged. It’s located in the center of the crankshaft flange or flywheel."

OK, back to you @Ultramaroon.

Gonna be in town anyway so easy. Wife is going to the grandson's graduation but they can only take 4 people. Just planning on chilling with the younger one so I will now introduce him to the wonderful world of car diagnostics.

Grandson!

Son couldn't even tell you what make it is, has never touched a wrench and at 32 years old has never driven a mile in his life.
I am ashamed.
