This is how all REAL parts companies work...It's sad that it needs to be stated and restated so much. I spent a good while chatting with the innovate peeps this weekend, they are in no hurry to sell bad product, they are shaking stuff down and verifying everything, just like it should be, Last edited by SkullWorks; 05-28-2013 at 02:00 PM. Yea, lets talk more about this! If this is the case, im switching back to pump gas in the next couple of days. This is kind of a bummer....

Yikes!!! Looks like I need to swap back to pump gas now too. Let's talk about cleanup, if this happens to anyone. How do we get the gunk gone? My panic level just spiked.

I was lucky as I have many friends in the tc community they hit the problem FIRST TRY.. seems their intank filter does the same on their e-85 boosted cars too... I'm ASSUMING regular gasoline with ocasional e-85 uses will prevent this ...No Dangit I wont go there... ALL alcohols are SOLVENTS too...and they work particularly well on adhesives....like the kind glueing the felt material to the filter pleats...so with Murphy in mine if it can fail it will...and at the worst possible time.
We Cleaned the tank and all feed and return lines Replaced the intank pump Replaced the port injectors Replaced Direct injection pump Replaced/cleaned all DI hardlines Replaced the direct injectors We did this from the tank forward in sequence to try and isolate the restrictions. Car did not run clean till EVERYTHING had been serviced/replaced/cleaned.. ALL E-85 users I would LOOK at your intank sump bowl. ANY DEBRIS means your return fillter is disintegrating...

Yea, seriously. Should we open a new thread dedicated to this? This is the first time I have heard of E85 damaging the stock fuel system. But I guess it was bound to happen...

This effect will be more pronounced / happen earlier on Robi's car since it is tracked like crazy and doesn't see pump.
Looks like it is inevitable for everyone esle though...just a matter of time. Time to find an E85 compatible fuel filter? Shouldn't be too hard right? |

As mentioned before, this is not a "FlexFuel" car so people running E85 are doing so at their own risk.
