This might be a BRZ problem because my GTS86 works fine apart from selecting the direction the airflow will take and that might be for the best on auto?

My BRZ limited does not do this either, so you guys are obviously doing something wrong or there is something wrong with the car.

I can select the direction and what not just fine, my only gripe is the automated A/C activation. I will eventually figure out how to defeat it. I would play with the air system a little more if it would stop snowing and raining on a weekly basis since my car is covered.

Perhaps it's a setting option the dealer can change through the ECU?

That's possible or there is some secret setting an owner can discover.

Yeah maybe. I won't guarantee anything though but it never hurts to explore that.

I agree, I just don't drive it much in the winter months to find out. Just have noticed it the few times I have been able too. Spring is coming. Woot!

i have played with every single air blowing mode and the AC turns on every freaking time... sigh...

for those of you who don't have the AC automatically turn on everytime you turn on the air, do you select the mode first and then switch the dial, or switch the dial then the mode?

I turn my car on, every time, and the AC does not automatically come on. It has my previous settings from the last time I drove. I think there is something wrong with your Climate Control. And yes I have a Limited BRZ.

OK here is what I've seen with my BRZ Limited.

Full Auto...a/c light will be on. If needed a/c compressor will kick in to cool off cabin. If really warm the recirc light will come on but then turn off once temp is maintained at setting.

When outside temps fall below 32* F the a/c light will turn off. I guess this way the cmpressor won't turn on. Once outside temp raises to 32*F and above the a/c light will come back on. Mind you that this is with the full auto setting.

At any time you can switch off the a/c light manually. This turns off the full auto icon. On my car the a/c light will stay off when turning car off and then restarting. The a/c will never come on by itself in the manual mode.

I know this sounds confusing...

Sorry, my misunderstanding. My comment still stands though, I do not have that issue. Even when I click the AC button, the fan speed is still at what I had it set to.
