Jacking location for lifting the whole side of the car
I'm trying to rotate my tires soon and I don't have a spare tire to swap around so I need to jack up two front and back wheels to rotate them.
On my Miata, you could use a jack pad and jack the car from underneath the mirror. This would jack up the whole side of the car and you could put a couple of jack stands under the pinch welds to hold the side of the car up. Can I do this with the BRZ too? Or should I jack it up from elsewhere? |

There are two jacking points: one in the front and rear. The rear is the differential, and the this part of the frame where theres a little bump extruding from it. I think there's a picture in the manual

Granted, I'd prefer to get jack stands. But, here is a reference on the forums. Not my post nor my recommendation, so try at your own risk and all that. |

I use the pinch weld toward the rear of the car, but as far forward before hitting the plastic side skirt. The spot is just about even with the door handles. Id like to lift it a little more forward but plastics in the way.

I use the pinch weld near the front of the car to change tires on each side. If you want to do other work like side to side tire rotation or exhaust or whatever, use the front/rear jacking points.

use four jack stands.
jack up the rear via the diff. put two stands under rear-side jack points. jack up the front via the crossmember. put the other two stands under the front-side jack points. rotate wheels. |

Also I think that once one end is lifted there front has less clearance than the rear, so lifting the front first makes it easier to jack the rear (vs. lifting the rear first and then not having access to the front jacking point). |
