axleback install without lifting car
I searched but could not find a direct answer to this question.
Just curious if the OEM axle back can be removed from the car without jacking or lifting the rear? Thanks

First time is not fun since the muffler is a bit of a pain to get off. The bolts are OK to reach, but getting the actual muffler off the hangers is not the easiest. Use WD40 or something on the hangers.

thanks guys. I have a nameless muffled track pipe, which I was assuming would be easier to install than the uninstall of OEM. Glad to know I can do this by myself without going out to pick up a jack.

That Nameless muffled track pipe is a breeze. Took me about 15 minutes total, 10 of which were from trying to remove the old OEM muffler.
Congrats on the exhaust, it sounds amazing! |

thanks! I'm looking forward to using it, however I am definitely concerned it will be too loud for me and my daily driver. Just with OFH most people tell me the car is too loud if I'm trying to talk over bluetooth.

I drove my car onto two 2x4 blocks to give myself a little extra room, its definitely doable like this but, you might want a friend to help out though.

Easy to do from the ground. If you have an extra $20, owning an exhaust hanger removal tool will save you frustration.

The time you save not jacking up the rear of the car will likely be offset by the extra time spent to remove the muffler with less operating room.
If you don't have a jack/jackstands, you should pick some up anyway. |

Ah glad that this thread came up. Was planning to swap out the stock muffler with a track pipe for more volume at the track preferably without a jack.
Can't hear the my own engine with all the loud ones going past lmao |

Hardest part was torqueing the bolts back up because my torque wrench is huge.
