A warning that you haven't read your manual yet.

....... because you haven't read your manual.

another ....... because you should be able to figure it out, even if you didn't read your manual.

Now, go put about 35 psi of air in all of your car's tires.

....... that one is just because I felt like it.

No I just figured if he won't believe that the sound clip he made is a perfectly normal sounding boxer engine ( after asking if it was normal at that) then he would not believe that there is a such thing as a book that tells you all those hidden secrets. Even I sometimes know when to just give up.

Not sure if it is a cultural thing now or just a result of ease of information on the internet but damn it seems people go out of their way to try and find something wrong with their cars sometimes.

I think new drivers are overwhelmed with too much information about their cars.

Remember, back-in-the-day, we just looked and listened to "the vital signs".

* car ran out of gas - walk to the next farm and borrow a gallon of gas

* car was billowing steam from under the hood - fill it with ditch water and wrap a rag around the busted radiator hose.

* car vapor locked - place a wet rag on fuel line & re-prime

* tire went flop-flop-flop - put on the spare

* car flooded - hold open the choke with a pen, push accelerator to the floor and hold it while cranking the engine till it started

* car wouldn't stop - downshift and apply emergency brake

* car died at idle - take a screwdriver or a dime and turn idle screw clockwise a time or two.

* car won't fire during damp weather - take off your T-shirt and dry out the distributor contacts

* car is mis-firing - pull plug wires one at a time till you find the fouled plug, pull it and clean it up.

* I'm sure you old timers can add to the list......

Now .......

I am going to dispute this one^!

98% of the time the e brake cables were either seized solid or had snapped years ago.

I am sure that people will counter with "well cars are more complex now". Yes, they are, but the quality of manufacture, vastly improved technology and materials more than make up for that.
I find it entertaining that the same guys that will freak out and tell people to take their at in for a full cooling system flush because somebody put 4 ounces of the wrong coolant in it are also the ones that will change their whole suspension and discuss the merits of FI at length.

That would be a warning light that I would most certainly have to disable.

Your engine is soon to be toast. Mix & match oil weights is a sure way to induce oil channel confusion in the engine. This will completely throw off the VVT (since it's oil controlled) and the valves will be coming from the right at the same time the piston is coming from the left.

Hey how did you get a pic of my Talon engine after it threw the timing belt?
