The only D plug that would have any such related engine stuff seems to be D48, which doesn't seem to be on the FR-S...

Thanks for trying!!

I am hoping that there may be a CANBUS converter out there. There exists such a product for other cars...not for ours specifically yet it seems, though...

Your best tach signal will come from the ignition. Cylinder 1 is from memory a blue and yellow wire, third from the right on the main ecm. Just probe it to check.

The ECU connectors use the normal 025 and 040 terminals, pin 15 is an 025 size.

You may need to depin one of the existing pins to confirm the lock tabs match the datasheet, but this is the sort I see on the majority of late DBW Toyota and Subaru's with the 4 row header: http://au.rs-online.com/web/p/pcb-co...PSF_435696|acc

Tyco Part: 1123343-2

You can also buy repair terminals from Toyota/Subaru, but they're hideously expensive ($17-25ea for a single terminal crimped to a short length of wire)
Can anyone point to how to get connectors in and out of a ECU connector socket? I'm wanting to add a wire to pin 40 on connector 3C (DRL relay) which is empty.

I hope i am understanding your question correctly.

have not done these particular ones but generally the new pins just push in and have an angled barb that locks the pin in place. They can be a bit of a problem to get out, their may be a special tool but often you can slip a very thin screw driver like a jewelers one down the side of the pin where the locking barb is then pull the pin out.
