Awesome. You'll love it. Know this thread hasn't been getting too much action but it seems the more you actually do, the less time there is to post! We've moved dozens of these now, and we have another big order of ECAs coming in this week to make more.

A few questions that keep coming up:

Do you need the evap harness?

No, you can use the rear o2. Economy will be a bit worse though since the ECU likes to use the rear o2 for closed loop fueling. Stock front o2 will not be as accurate at stochiometric ratios. You can recalibrate for this by altering the OEM front wideband calibration, and using a good aftermarket wbo2 for reference.

Why not the direct injection line?

This keeps coming up. Car uses both port and direct injection. If your tuner doesn't use port that much, just make a map to flush both lines. That way there's no surprise infusion of pump gas at the top end when DI runs out of steam.

Why the older ECA1 and not ECA2?

Functionally identical, the ECA1 is simpler to install due to not having a separate controller (integrated into display with the ECA1). You can special order with the ECA2 but it is more cumbersome than just doing the 4 crimp connectors. Our WRX/STI kits use the ECA2 due to hot having the same design restrictions with passing the wires.

Why not a plug and play electrical connector into the rear o2

We offer an included fuse tap you can use for this kit (and also all your gauges!) and a ground lug that easily bolts in. The other two connections are 2 crimp connectors. This keeps the power draw from the fuse box, and is fused. Other kits that directly draw power and ground from the o2 sensor connector risk blowing out the ECU itself. This is not a good idea IMO, and we'll take the hit on marketing over having a more robust product.

For those ordering lines only:

Please let us know if that's the case. There's some cheap sensors out there that have a different form factor, and may not be compatible. We need to see a picture. In those cases you'll need the push on fittings and possibly longer lines to make it fit. Just send a picture next to a measuring tape so we know, we can then accommodate.

Emissions:

Whether using the rear o2 or the evap line, the vehicle will report one monitor not ready. Most states allow 1 monitor to report "not ready" and still pass. If yours does not, you can always just disconnect the power to the kit, flash in the stock tune, put pump gas in, and you're 100% compliant. Since we can't keep tabs on emissions in every state or country, the kit is for OFF ROAD use only. With that said, you should have no trouble passing emissions if you disconnect it temporarily, and don't have other things (like no cat).

Otherwise glad folks are enjoying their kits! If we can get more than 5 people who don't mind waiting 3-4 weeks for it we can do another group buy!

Can you elaborate on these two things a little more?

1. I have a EBCS which is already using the evap connector to the ecu. Can I still use your evap harness to connect the flex sensor?

2. How exactly do you do this DI PI "flush" map? Is it on a map switch function? Like have map switch #4 be a flush map? What is entailed in a flush map? It runs an equal amount of both DI and PI?

Good questions, get #1 tons.

1: EBCS uses EVAP solenoid OUTPUT. Our EVAP harness uses pin c20 on the ECU, which is not connected to anything on USDM cars. That is an INPUT. With an EBCS / Flex Fuel setup we intercept both the in and out, and they operate independently. So you can run both without a problem.

2: Set up a 30/70 or 40/60 or 50/50 map in custom maps. I like to have it enable the CEL when it is active, that way I know it is flushing.

Thanks!

I don't suppose there is any easy way to run it in line with the DI?

I will be getting the harness.

Why not the direct injection line?

I plan on port line for various reasons mentioned in this thread.

Why the older ECA1 and not ECA2?

ECA1 in red please.

Emissions:

No worries about emissions here
I answered a few points above.
Also, is there any advantage to going with your maps versus me taking my car to Top Speed Motorsports about 10 miles away and getting it dyno tuned there?

I believe I fall into this category with my Precision 5431E turbo running 20psi on 9:1 compression as it is right now.
"350 for high boost anything or custom turbo"

Also, my VIN is unlocked so it can be tuned in any Ecutek software and cable.

Thanks

Can't attest to what the other folks are doing. Making power on the dyno is not hard with this car. Making consistent and as knock-free tunes is the hard part. That we can do remotely for much less than most spend on a half day on the dyno. But there is something to be said for dyno time, especially considering that you have a fully built motor and can probably ramp it up a good deal. But that all depends on the tuner. We've seen some good, and some not so good.

Then I might have to check you guys out if you think you can tune my setup

BTW, we've had a couple of folks asking for this so here's how to go about putting the sensor in the DI instead of the PI line:

It's that simple. We're making the future kits about 1/2" longer on the lines to make this a bit cleaner, but the previous kits should reach as well. Again, we feel the PI line is the better method, but if you're tuning to run heavily on DI with little to no port component, you can install it in the DI with no change in hardware needed. Pictures shows the port line feeding the kit, but we wanted to mock it up to the DI line to show that it can be done.

More updates! Continuing to sell as fast as we can make them, this weeks orders will go out today and Friday. We're having supply problems with both ECAs and fittings, but we're committed to using only the best US made components, so for that reason we'd rather wait for the big batches than substitute leaking fuel fittings.

ProSpeed Racing in AU will be the distributor for these down under, make sure to give them a ring and pick up a kit. This will save you guys some money and travel time to get down there.

For other folks with the JDM style harnesses, will keep some available as well.

Also we revamped the kits to use the ECA2 primarily now. Functionally completely identical, but they will be a simpler hookup with just power (fuse box), ground (screw by fusebox), and signal (one connector). This is easier than the last install method, but you'll need to make a bigger opening in the wire harness rubber to get the connector through. Or use the soundhole on the passenger side and then you have nothing to worry about!

We're also going to have a "budget" version where you can plug in using the rear o2 sensor. This will be just an ECA2, rear o2 plug, and sensor/harness. There is no cockpit routing, and you can see the ethanol content through EcuTek or by getting the gauge for a bit extra.

Get you orders in now so that when the next batch of ECAs come in we can get them for you, also fteightysix will be stocking them on the west side of the country, so give them a shout for quicker shipping out there, or when we're out of stock.

And the lower gas prices are having an effect on corn fuel prices as well; we're starting to see e85 get to below $3/gal around here!
