Most of the people who cause issues aren't even registered on these sites, hence the difficulty in holding those people accountable. We are very strict on our meet rules, but of course occasionally some DB will show up and try to prove something. We have kicked out or banned people in those situations. But usually these kinds of things happen at the really big meets. I personally prefer the smaller low-key events which do several times per month (and never have had issues).
When a community gets too big, you can't keep track of every person and be held accountable. I totally get that, which is why I don't go to large meets... because douchebags can and will show up and be... douchebags.
HT had a bad reputation years ago, I can recall when people would post on the forums and actually try to plan on crashing other car enthusiast meets. "Oh hey lets show up an hour before those guys and fill the lot with our cars".

I think a lot of the larger meets also have people that take pictures of plates so they know where to steal your car etc.

From a risk perspective, I just don't go to car meets anymore unless its very small and has pretty muchg zero chance of attracting unwanted attention.

Maybe I'm just too damn old.

So yes, perhaps the idiots that showed up were not from HT or JDMC all the time, but there were other times where it was blatantly obvious people were there to crash the meet or be idiots. The risk of being a part of a large community where its hard to keep track of everyone and a lot of traffic shows up (which you pointed out may or may not even belong to the group/forum) is why I stay away. Risk management.

Everything I experienced was at least 5 years ago though, maybe things have changed

I'm not bothered by the negative comments about my site because I'm confident with my myself, my content, and everything I do for the local community.
I have nothing but respect () for you and you probably have a decent idea of the kind of person I am from our somewhat infrequent conversations. Also, you know the people who I am very close with in the local community. As for as my reputation goes, no one legitimately can say anything bad about me.

With that said, I also never had a problem with Allan. I always though people hated on him for no real reason. This was up until he came one this board and acted like a real big asshole. You just had to be there kind stuff. A lot of people on this board are legit track rats who I know though the good ole real deal Honda tech days. This car naturally was a progressive move from an ITR or whatever honda so it seems, as I found a lot of OG Honda heads here.... AC came in here and was just a flat out **** to everyone and anyone.

When someone one comes around acting like a real big **** for the LOLz or whatever, you lose any respect from people. It wasn't as much that I was trolling as much as I was enjoying the banter. You cant come swinging a big obnoxious **** around and not have people turned off about it.

Either way, this is all internet entertainment for me. I don't care who is a **** to who.

That diffuser looks like a lunch tray.

Actually, that gives me an idea. Thanks OP, I'm going to get the same diffuser so I can use it to hold parts when I install a new backup light!

I guess he'll have to find a dumpster to look for another "custom" piece to screw onto his car
