The pedal travel is moved lower. The engagement point relative to pedal movement from its resting point remains the same. Before and after the mod, you disengage the clutch by pushing all the way down. There's a lot less distance to travel for the mod. Then you engage by lifting all the way off. Again, a lot less distance to travel. Unfortunately both ways are imperfect. I want the engagement point moved down while still having some freeplay above the engagement point. I'd also like a quicker engagement, but there's supposedly delay valves built into the master and slave cylinders. I have a lot of trouble driving smoothly as i have to engage so slowly.

Sorry to revive this, but I just removed the helper spring on the clutch on top of already having my pedal adjusted from before -- HUGE difference, feels like a real clutch now. The grabbing point is a little higher, so I adjusted it to be even lower. Several people have removed these helper springs from other forums/cars, no issues from what I've researched. Can't imagine it doing any damage to ours.

I still need to do this but I just haven't had any time. I don't want to screw anything up and have it basically riding the clutch.

This is one of the easiest modifications there is. I've driven the car about a year with it -- no clutch burns nothing. Biting point moved and am VERY happy with it -- though I didn't do much of an adjustment to the clutch, just about 1-2mm above the brake pedal, I didn't need it that low.

Would anyone like to do this for me please? I don't mind driving to the Bay Area
Of course I'll pay or buy food for taking the time to do this. Thanks!
