On this episode [video] of The Downshift, Automobile Magazine’s Jason Cammisa takes Subaru’s new BRZ to the Isle of Man. With no speed limits and some of the craziest racing roads in the world, the Isle of Man is home to one of the world’s deadliest motorcycle events – the Isle of Man TT. Jason tours the treacherous race route in the new Subaru BRZ, then rides along with WRC Champion Mark Higgins for some full-speed runs in a rally prepped BRZ.

It looks like the URAS widebody 86 with a 2JZ engine swap is up and running and finally resembling its final form. Check out some updated photos and video inside.

The BRZ has just launched into Australia, where it sold out in just 3 hours.

Toyota UK has announced the Toyota Racing Development (TRD) GT86 Special Edition for the UK market, scheduled to go on sale in the beginning of January 2013.

The success of BRZ sales is being experienced in all markets, with the latest being Australia where the car just went on sale overnight on the Subaru webpage.

Subaru’s BRZ sports car online selling initiative has proved a massive success, with the car sold-out after just three hours of going “live” on the web.

With just 201 cars available through to New Year, huge online demand temporarily stalled Subaru’s website, but after it went “live” around 1245 AEST, the first online customer took just 20 minutes to complete the process, from choosing accessories, completing their contract and paying their deposit.
