HID vs LED Low/High beam along with DLR?

Hey everyone, I am looking to upgrade from the stock halogen, mainly my Low beam and DLR.

My previous Corolla had LED low beam (Which I like, but not sure of the color temp) and it was nice and bright. Now after some searching around, theres seems to be an argument between LED and HID's. I Don't want to be blinding people while driving, same goes for DLR, heard that the OLM DLR are way too bright.

From the googling I found, there was a thread started about 2012, but I'm sure newer tech are released from then.

Would it be better to outfit the headlight with LED or HID's? And what do you guys/gals recommend?

Thanks!

HID. the FRS headlight optics were not designed for LED's. however, since it is originally a halogen projector, you will get pretty decent output if you swap in an HID kit when comparing it to a reflector housing with an HID kit (don't ever do this please). also be sure to test your output and properly aim the headlights if need be (20 ft away from a wall on a flat surface, your cutoff should be 2" below your lens height from the floor).

4300k for HID would give you the best visibility and usable light, but I personally like 5000k for the pure white look. 6000k will give you a hint of blue, and I wouldn't recommend going past 6000k.

I have seen the cars equipped with LED's from the factory and they don't amaze me as a proper HID setup would.

Also, I just found this out, has anyone try the OLM HP+ LED low beam yet? Wanna see how it compare to the HID.

Thanks!

According to one person on reddit:

"I have the DRLs. Bright as ffffff. Their note about turning on your headlights earlier is no joke since these will seriously piss people off around dusk. I'm not sure if having white DRLs is worth the hassle"

I've heard people complain about the new corolla lights being blinding.

If you want arguably the best headlights for output in this car. I would suggest the new Morimoto Mini H1 7.0s w/Retroquick brackets from TheRetrofitsource.com. Add in the 50w HIDs and you aren't going to get anything to outperform it. The old brackets have to be cut to fit, and the new brackets aren't out yet, but if you aren't shy of using a dremel it's worth it.
