Seized brake rotor removal tool
While replacing my wheel studs I discovered my rotors were stuck and I didn't have the correct size bolts on hand to remove them. I found the spare tire hold down bolt is the correct size and makes the perfect tool for the job!

Nice find!
When I did the brembo brake conversion, I had to take my bike to the parts store to get a couple of M8 x 1.25 bolts.. if only I had known about this back then. Not sure if coincidence, or the engineers designed the spare tire tie-down bolt specifically with this in mind.

Did you try hitting the flat part of the rotor hat with a big hammer first?

No, I tried a few light blows with a rubber mallet on the backside rotor face with no results. I then tried the tire bolt and both rotors pressed off easily with just a few turns of the handle.

Nice find! I keep a couple of metric bolts in the "tune-up" drawer just for that reason, but for those who don't, this is a good tip. Thanks for posting it up.

I tried this earlier today for the rear rotors, it worked but it fucked up the threads real nice. I suppose on Monday I'll be ordering a new one...
It's my fault and I'm by no means blaming the OP. I highly recommend grabbing a bolt from the front undertray instead, it's far stronger
