Door Circuitry Problem?

Hi Everyone,

I tried searching for anyone that has had a similar problem and couldn't find anything...so here's my issue:

History: My windows froze a couple times last winter (probably due to snow melting and freezing inside) but since then they have had no issues (~8 months of normal operation)

Present: I replaced every interior bulb with LEDs, including the door courtesy lights.

Issue: when I FIRST open my door in the morning, or after the car has been sitting for a while (ie "cold"), the driver side window makes a sort of "POP" noise. It sounds like a metal-glass impact. I checked the seals all along the window and everything looks fine. I began noticing this about 1 week after installing the LEDs. It also only seems to happen when I open the door in a normal fashion. If I open the door gently, it doesn't make this noise.

Theory: I know this could be totally wrong, but is it possible that the switch to LEDs has caused a current imbalance in the door circuitry causing the window motor to pull extra power and jerk the window open or not open it fast enough?

Any advice? I checked out the BRZ wiring diagram online to see where the courtesy light is located in the circuit but you need a plotter printer and 4'x8' paper to make any sense of that.

Help is greatly appreciated! I think in the mean time I will switch back to the incandescant bulbs and also test the passenger side window.

Thanks guys!

half bump half more info:

I didn't put the incandescant bulbs back in...but today I had the door opened and then pushed the button on the door sill that tells the motor to raise / lower the window...and it made the noise while the door was open.

So this rules out collision between glass and a non-door component of the car.

Anyone have any ideas? could the glass be off the track?
