Camber bolts question - Toyota GR86, 86, FR-S and Subaru BRZ Forum & Owners Community

Just recently got lowering springs installed and am looking at getting camber bolts to fix the camber when i get the alignment done. Are the camber bolts the same for the front and the rear? I haven't found any that specified. Thx in advance

Yes if you search camber bolts you should get the part number as well. They are 5 bucks a piece

Good question. I would like to know as well, but I suppose i will just post updates after having them installed

If you're talking factory crash bolts being the "camber bolts" then no, they aren't the same front and rear.

The ones people are using in the rear are aftermarket cammed bolts that they've modified slightly to fit.

do you need to check alignment if all you did was install camber bolts and put them at max negative camber. will this make the front toe in and by how much?

Yes, you should check your alignment after any adjustment to the camber on our car. For every deg of neg camber, our car toes in by about 3/32 if what I've read is correct. Personally, I get a lifetime alignment on any car I work on and then take it in and get it on the rack whenever I want to make adjustments. This car seems particularly sensitive to alignment changes, so I think any benefit you would gain from camber would be overshadowed by the change in toe-in in the front. I really like how this car feels with 0 front toe.

What are these fabled lifetime alignment places? I always hear people talk about them so I went to firestone and bought it. They took my car in and a few minutes later came back and said you can't get lifetime alignment on this vehicle, it has modified suspension parts. So I called around and couldn't find a place that offered lifetime alignment to modified cars. Which makes sense but I still see people say they get this service and I wonder where...

I guess your Firestone has an annoying manager. I get my lifetime alignment at Firestone and they have no problem working on my modified vehicle. Honestly, I don't know why they would complain (Unless you have coilovers... Lots more adjustment there), even with my rear LCAs, my car is super easy to adjust. I've only added a single adjustment (rear camber) that isn't on the factory car and it honestly makes the alignment easier for the tech. Firestone even lets me go in the back and tell them what to do and how I want it adjusted. If a garage acted like that towards me though, I wouldn't go to them for my alignment.

It wasn't just the one, I called around after and none would allow it. I found a place that charged $60 and will do whatever spec you want with any mods. They spent an hour to do mine and I was very happy after having no luck with a couple other shops. I'll keep going there until someone can find me a lifetime place in NYC area.
