Just installed K&N air filter

Hi guys

I just installed KN air filter in my BRZ

But i dont really see any difference in engine sound...

I wanted to have a better sound, but...

I feel a little better throttle response but im not sure if its real or just placebo

Can anyone see any difference?

I found it was a little more responsive. If you want more noise, your best option would be either remove the foam from the "noise generator" tube OR Buy a full intake system.

Drop in filters will not make any difference in noise because it still uses the factory air box. You need a full intake system with one of those cone filters.

Been there done that.
If all you want is noise buy those "full" intake kits
Honestly you are paying for the name brand only/bling factor. Same gains as your K&N.

One thing you'll notice a bit is the drop of mpg. Not by much but very noticeable. Like 2-3 less than what you had. But that can directly link to your lead foot. The little added pep makes you go faster.

Snorkel mod > https://www.ft86club.com/forums/show....php?p=1297833 is really all you need for a little bit more noise, without sacrificing money for minimal gains.

Exposed pods are idiotic IMO

Don't believe the marketing hype IRT aftermarket intakes

For more induction noise the best mod I have heard was when the intake tube was removed and replaced with alloy pipe, the other bits were highflow filter and snorkel mod.

I think the guy picked up the alloy 90° pipe from a auto shop with some silicone pipe.

Used a rubber grommet for the vent pipe IIRC.

Deleted noise maker and all resonator chambers.

Typical to the Mishimoto intake, only alloy not silicone.
