Header install: O2 sensor wiring?
Hi everyone. I'm getting Speedfactory UEL catted headers, and I'm planning the installation. The install instructions & videos I've seen so far focus on the nuts & bolts, and assume that I know where/how to disconnect the O2 sensor wiring.
Can someone point me to some photos or videos showing that part of the job? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

You simply switch the o2 sensor to the new header you just unscrew them and screw them back in, easier with an o2 wrench but it's not needed. The wire can be disconnected to be sure they arent damaged but they don't need to be.
To disconnect the wire you simply pop them out then pop the clips out the hold them secure. Then reverse the process on install There is one grey and one black connector make sure you put them in the right place (both on the header and the plugs)

The plugs are color coded and accessible from the hood. The O2 sensors are different so if you somehow manage to mix them up, the car probably won't run right. |

The easiest way is to disconnect the harnesses (the black and gray connectors circled in the picture above) before you remove the header. Once the header is out from under the car, use an O2 wrench socket to get the sensors out of the header.
BE CAREFUL not to strip the threads, and remember which sensor goes before and after the cat! Some have had bad luck with cross threaded sensors from the factory, luckily most don't run into this problem. You may find that one or both of the O2 sensor connectors cannot reach the harness plug in the engine bay (I had this issue with my JDL Catted Header). Don't panic! You can simply pull the harness plug off of its mount and it should reach the plug from the O2 sensor. Enjoy your new header!
