Like I mentioned before, the strange thing about mine is it doesn't crank at all. It just turns the car on and I'll cycle through all the modes a bunch of times and then it'll eventually fire up like nothing happened.

This is the first car where I've had to deal with these also. From the numerous times I've gone in for these now… it seems that you still have to prove that whatever the TSB says is actually happening to your car, but the dealership is much more likely to take you seriously if there's a TSB. I brought my car in for a couple of problems and they said they couldn't replicate the problem. However, when the TSB's then came out a few months later, I took it back in and the dealership made the repairs no questions asked. I've also found that the dealership won't mention the TSB's until you bring it up.

What you should do is the following: - Document issue if you can replicate it easily, and/or figure out what conditions are causing the issue. - Go have vehicle inspected at dealer, and if dealer can replicate the issue then it won't be charged to you and will be covered under factory warranty. - Service advisers and technicians use TSBs as guidelines to fix the problem. The manufacturer issues a TSB if there is a known, common issue that would be covered under warranty and otherwise not covered under the normal FSM procedures for service work Think of it this way: by insisting on having a TSB applied to your car up front, you're essentially telling a dealer how they should run their business. Some managers will take that as a slap in their face, especially before a technician has had a chance to replicate and document the issue at hand. Case in point: my tail light was replaced under warranty due to condensation. At no point was the TSB referenced in my work order. -alex |

Just a heads-up, I got the software update to deal with throttle dips when the A/C would cycle on and off. It fixed the problem pretty well. I've noticed my longer winter start ups have gone away as well, but that may have just as much to do with the weather lately.
It's an easy fix, just bring in a copy of the TSB and tell them you're having one of the problems it addresses. |

Closed and open loop has nothing to do with starting, on these cars.
