Be patient.. It gets better with time and use.. No need to attempt to fix something that isn't broke..

i had the same issue, i took it back many times to toyota. they changed oil etc.

eventually they agreed there was a problem, and took my car for 8 weeks, and there was a syncro issue and they had the parts sent from japan and then gearbox rebuilt.

in is much better than it was before, it was so annoying to drive, especially when it was cold. toyota service was shit as i said it from the day i got the car home it didnt feel right. but i persisted as people kept saying it was normal. i was sometimes unable to get it into gear e.g going from 3-2gear and 1-2gear. i was just not using that gear in the end which wasnt how it should be. the service department said just force it in.. i didnt thank gawd but it proves how smart they really are

they replaced the 2nd and 3rd gear syncro rings and replaced 1, 2,3 4 hub assembly

after waiting 8 weeks for the car back, got a letter to say it needed a service now. somehow they couldnt have done that in the 8 weeks they had the car..

Stop pressing your clutch pedal all the way to the floor. Only needs to go about half way.

grinding for 5 seconds? that sounds painful. my shifter was notchy at first but it loosened up after some use. I actually had a lighter shift knob and the notchy mechanical feeling was still there compared to stock but it seemed to glide into the gates and click into gear better than stock. I have a heavier shift knob now and although it masks the notchyness it doesnt seem to glide into the gates and click as well as the lighter shift knob did

I guess that's possible since our engagement point is a bit high up but I think that's kinda iffy?...

There's something wrong with my trans. I've taken it to 2 different dealers, and they try to pin it on "hard shifting," but with my clutch fully depressed I have the synchros grind in second gear regularly no matter how slow I shift. I even heard the tech grind while downshifting from 6th to 5th and he just ignored it.
