My car wouldn't start this morning, it wasn't cold either. It seemed to just go into accessories mode, and clutch was in, neutral'd and handbrake up, 1600KM on the odometer.
Then all I did was push the lock and open button on my keyfob, and tried again and it fired up. I'm wondering if it was the signal from my keyfob to the system, maybe it didn't recognize my keyfob was nearby? But then I shouldn't be able to go into accessories mode. Weird :s |

I had issues with my Dealer in Cgy, once while purchasing and once while dealing with an issue, both times the dealers attitude changed after head office called them! Food for thought

sorry to hear this happened, they seemed like some pretty nice people when i bought my car but money talks i guess.
i know i'm due for my first oil change (which is free) i've been tempted to do it myself but i kinda wanted to keep the warranty intact for just a bit longer haha. and like Bu-Tang said when dealerships get calls from head office they kiss ass after that. i know from past experiences |

Good question, I'll test this tonight. I didn't know there was such a thing, I'm sure I tried starting it within 3 minutes though since I usually start the engine and let it sit for about a minute before I head out to work.

I know for sure the 993 immobilizer works like this by design, but I have no idea if there's anything similar in the BRZ's.
I know I can unlock my car and wait 15+ minutes before starting it and it'll start fine, but I don't have a push button start so they may behave differently.

^^ That's exactly what the 993's do. It won't crank at all, as if you hadn't turned the key past ACC.
