Hey Sieglapj, did you have the intro or high spec. Really interested in what the difference in dynamics are between the 16inch 205s vs the 17 inch 215s tyres are.

Has anyone driven both models to the edge?

I have the 16inch 205s and they grip like crazy and then give way pretty quickly.

Back to the thread. Lol! Im in envy, you guys pay cheap cheap...

1. Who are you insured with: Think Santam
2. Monthly premium: R1500
3. Age: 25
4. Area: JHB/KZN
5. Rate their claim/payout process: No idea
6. Do you have track day cover: No idea, but doubt I do.

Oh well maybe in a few years it will drop...

In life, you don't get what you deserve.
You get what you can "negotiate 'an all"

My advice would be to do some shopping around because I think you can get a better deal than you've got.

100% ... but I think riyal's biggest problem is his age.
riyal give United Dealers a try.

Age 25 - mmmm. I don't think that should affect premiums.
If I remember correctly, my policy has a loading for UNDER 25, so 25 and over shouldn't be an issue. In any case, my policy's "age" loading isn't a higher premium - it's additional excesses.

I do know that claims history has a profound effect on my premiums, I think as much as 40% or 50%.

thanks gents will give them a call. sadly age is the biggest factor with me and it doesnt help that this is my first vehicle registered on my name. The other factor is location, since Im in KZN and JHB.

When I was shopping around the average was R2000 - R2500, I had to take this on my parents policy as with me as the regular driver. Still shopping around and none can beat the price. Plan is to stick with it for a little and check again next year.

Not too painful - their suppliers are useless at times!
Excess is R2k
Trackday cover? You get that???

And a tracker was mandatory for any car over R250k.
ME TOO! Std Bank insurance.
1083.26pm. And I work for them so that's probably why I'm slightly below you.

Think it's time to call around....

Outsurance quoted me R4700 p/m with R2k excess...

Toyota quote me R1800 p/m with R3500 excess if I recall...

Hysterical!

16'S. I don't know if that was the reason. It happened so fast. I have posted before that the grip levels are that of a 911. Grip, grip, grip and then POW, ur gone.

1. Zurich
2. R705
3. 30
4. FS
5. Good
6. Don't know about the track day cover, will def check tomorrow!
No excess, only on windscreen, with rental car and all the rest of extras.
stand alone, no house etc.

Other insurers started at R1400, Zurich also started at R1044, you have to negotiate them down !

Hi Guys,
After watching Carte Blanche on Sunday, I would certainly discourage this type of information being published on a open forum.
The criminal elements are able to track your insurance company, know if you have tracker or not, possibly track your physical address.
