I just unpluged mine... So much better, now i need to plug it up.

BTW, the difference is far greater than 3-4db in the frequency range it operates in. Its such an obnoxious sound.

Does anybody else see to notice some noise still coming from the front right. I still think I can here the engine but it almost sounds like the cat shield vibrating.

Did removing the tube decrease the sound level coming from the engine at idle? DI tapping and crickets in particular.

11. The last remaining step in proper removal of the noise generator is to plug the hole that’s left in the intake tube. You can either wait for the release of the GrimmSpeed Noise Generator Delete plug, or visit your local hardware store for a less elegant, but equally functional solution.

I have had that tube non functional for months now, decided to finally remove today. But stupid question..where does the rest of that tube go that is suppose to be capped off? As I managed to pull out that whole piece too...just came out way too easy. Car drives fine, but want to get it capped off or sealed.

Yeah my zip tie to that tube broke real easy and the rest of the tube came out. Does it just go into the firewall? Does it really need plugged?

Is it significant? When I blocked the hole from inside the cabin during my test drive, the salesman was astonished by the change.

Edit: Picked up the new car on 9/2. Pulled out of the lot, pulled into the next one, walked around the car, said "excuse me" to the wife, pulled the plug from the glove compartment and put it in the hole in the footwell and pulled back onto the street.
The wife had only heard the car for about a block without the cap and a block later she said, "oh, that is better."

I was trying to do this mod. Went to McLendon near by my house, bought the plug and spent 10 minutes looking for this hole on my 10 series FRS. That hole is not exist in the cabin. Can someone else who has 10 series FRS confirm? thanks.

First I'd look to see if you even have a sound tube under the hood. Maybe since this is a 'newer' model, it has been deleted? If you have the tube, you have to pull the carpet down on the passenger side floor (near where your toes would be. Should be there if car is still equipped with the tube.

I found a good rubber plug at Home Depot. It is a 1.5" Quick Cap item # 018578000483 in the plumbing isle. Fits and looks great.
