Do you know the approx diff in the calibration between FRS specific and the generic? If it is only a degree or two off, you can mentally keep track of it. But if its all over the place I can understand not pursuing it...

I've read that some people have had success emailing requested PID's to support and they get added.

Their, not very promising, response (on 6 Feb 2013) was: (Quote) "I think the only information missing from this is the mode. Probably mode $22. There is no way to add custom parameters to DashCommand at this moment. So you cannot get it as DashCommand currently is. However we will be adding packages of non-generic parameters for certain vehicles soon. These parameters will need to be added on a model per model basis, so we won't be adding all at once. I don't know how we will prioritize which we add, but perceived demand will certainly drive our decision. Posts like yours in the forum probably help to shape our decisions. Keep an eye on DashCommand and when you see non-generic parameters coming out, ask us about this then. We will probably be in a better position to say what we will be adding then. As far as timetable, I am unsure. I was hoping the non-generics would be out last month, but we are a bit behind." ( End of quote ) .

For those of you that are jaikbroken, use Appcake to try out the different apps. If you like the app and it works well, by all means, PAY FOR IT and support the developers.
I only put this information out there because I've paid for countless apps that don't do what they promise or don't work at all. 99% of these apps I've had problems with I was never refunded and paid for nothing. I now download apps via Appcake (previously Installous/Hackulous) and install them to make sure they do what I'm looking for. If they don't work I erase it immediately and if they're a great app and do what they advertise they will do, I purchase them through the App Store. I don't condone pirating of software or music or movies...if you enjoy any of these things then please pay for them.

I know I'm just trolling but, yet another reason to go Android. No need to root/jailbreak to get Torque which is obviously much better than the iOS counterpart. Not to mention it's cheaper.
Pretty cool that you are able to do this though, for those of you that absolutely don't buy anything besides Apple products

No need to root or jailbreak to get DashCommand on iOS. You only need to jailbreak to get DashCommand to work with an unsupported OBD2 device. As for whether torque is better, that's probably as subjective of an argument as whether Apple or Android is better. Pros and cons to each.

Actually, you might be able to, i'm beginning to think my elm327 is a bum, it loses connection even to an android device that i have running torque. It very well may work for you.

@xjohnx I'm sorry you're having difficulties with the connection dropping out...it may be a bad ELM. Mine is brand new ($15 eBay ELM 327 Bluetooth shipped from CA) and I haven't had any issues at all. It has worked solid every single time I connect and hasn't dropped the connection even once unless I kill the ignition to the car. I've tried it in our 2012 Panamera and 2011 X5 M and both of those work great too. It may be worth spending another $15...at that price they're practically disposable. I'm thinking about ordering 2 more just so I have one in each of the cars all the time. Be sure to update us if/when you get a new ELM. There isn't much info on the Internet about using Bluetooth ELM on iOS devices as they're not supported. I created this thread solely to inform and help others that previously thought this wasn't possible. I expected the setup to be a nightmare and the device to be super laggy but I spent less than 5 minutes settings up and it's worked flawless ever since. I figured that it was so easy I would share my settings so others may use this mod for gauges, logging, or just monitoring what the car is doing in real time with data that would normally be impossible to display over Bluetooth on iOS.

iPhone and iPad users looks like there's a app that will put gauges up using a wifi ELM327 in the OBD2 port now.
https://itunes.apple.com/nz/app/engi...621127225?mt=8 Won't work with the Bluetooth ones so will need to get a wifi one like this one. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/G77-WIFI-...258b26a&_uhb=1
