They have yet to announce their 2013 dates. They have a very well organized hpde event at mosport gp that lasts two days, saturday and sunday. I have done it twice and it is excellent. If interested talk to john venditti, great guy.
Its open to all makes, first time i attended with my type r 2 years ago and second time , last year with my frs. Excellent intro for mosport gp, videos do not make justice to the elevation changes, hell not even driving it makes justice to the elevation. On the second day o the hpde you will have the chance to walk the track and realize how steep it is

Yup, At LOTP. I attended a couple SRTA at mosport ddt (couple years ago withy type R) and saw you driving your racecar, awesome! Pretty unique color scheme, hehe. Will you be driving the fr-s at such events in 2013?

I'm definitely interested in Cayuga, Mosport DDT and Shannonville. Calabogie may be a little far, but I may be interested. Mosport DDT is the best I've been on because of the turns and undulations.

I have done a couple courses through Ian Law's Car Control School including winter driving in Minden. He is a very good instructor and will usually incorporate a lapping course with car clubs.

Hope to see a lot of other members out at events this year, I'll be out whenever I can, usually Mosport or Cayuga.

Yes to all (except Calabogie, a tad too far.)

[QUOTE=engsr;643259]One of the best ways to learn the dynamics and understanding car control is via an autoslalom style school of advanced driver training. Due to the nature of our cars, I would suggest that if you have never participated in any lapping or autoslalom to do this type of school first.

ENGSR - Do you have an links/names of companies/groups that run these types of events. I'm completely new to the car racing/lapping thing but I'm really interested in it. I'd like to take a school first to teach me how to handle my vehicle.

I'm not really sure where to look for these types of events.

Thanks!

One of the best bangs for the buck is the CASC-OR Advanced Driving school - for reference, here's a link to last year's school (http://spda-online.ca/content.php?20...ic-April-21-22). More than likely, there will be another around the same time frame, so keep your eye on that website or casc.on.ca.

Another option is the ILR Car Control School (http://www.carcontrolschool.com/) where they offer different levels of training including track/lapping instruction. There could be others (like the BMW one) but I can't recall if they do an autoslalom-type.

I can personally vouch for the CASC-OR one as I was a student back in 2005 and a coach/instructor in 2009 and 2011. This one is more performance orientated as it's a lead in to the autoslalom type of events (which is also great practice for keeping your skills sharp). There's no obligation of course to continue in that path, but a lot of competitors that I've met throughout the years have gone through that school at some point.

shanny shanny shanny. Cayuga/DDT is boring =P
the time it takes to drive to cayuga is the same as shanny because of the small roads.

I can vouch for Ian Law. He's a great instructor.
