Ontario/Quebec - 86Series Lapping Days - Gauging Interest!
Ontario and Quebec FR-S and BRZ owners, I wanted to gauge interest in how many of you would be interested in having FT86-specific lapping days in 2013. If I have a rough number of yays or nays for each of the tracks, then I can get rough group pricing info. I'd like to initially keep this to FR-S and BRZ owners as I think we'd be able to maintain higher respect on-track.
Naturally, I understand that you can't give a final confirmation until final pricing and date details are available, which is why I'm just gauging interest. These would be lapping days, NOT race days, with SAFE lapping being of #1 priority! Everything else comes second to it. When you reply, please state for each of the below for tracks, if you'd be interested! Cayuga - yes/no Mosport - yes/no Shannonville - yes/no Calabogie - yes/no Cayuga - 1 hour south of Hamilton Mosport - 100km East Northeast of Toronto Shannonville - 200km East of Toronto Calabogie - 1 hour west of Ottawa Also, if I missed some tracks in Ontario, please let me know! (I know Montreal also has a few tracks in and around the area, but I'm not familiar with them!) Or obviously, if I botched/overlooked something in here, please LMK! Cayuga 1) @DjDATZ - yes Mosport 1) @DjDATZ - yes Shannonville 1) @DjDATZ - yes Calabogie 1) @DjDATZ - yes [Personally, I'd also like to see if we can pull of at least one snow-lapping day too! ;)] |

Cayuga - yes
Mosport - yes Shannonville - yes-ish (far but I could be convinced) Calabogie - yes (but I think this is the most expensive track around) I miss Dunnville. |

Yes to all tracks, including winter time.
@l8apexr congrats on the win at the Rallye Vert de Montreal. I saw it on the winter tech pro. |

Shannonville, cayuga and mosport ddt are on the same price range. Mosport gp is an amazing track not very good for first timers IMO. I have never being in calabogie but will check it out at least once in 2013. |

Dunville was nothing more than a test track for brakes :mad0260:  anyway i'm a big fan of both Shannonville (all configurations) and DDT. Mosport GP is too dangerous, i think, for the average skill of the people you're gonna attract. And as Driver1 pointed out, it's not gonna be cheap for a small lapping group. |

but in general i found shannonville to have much better flow. When i was racing on dunville a lot of the exits didn't even have curbs, just a 1-2" drop into gravel, very dangerous if you're pushing the limit. i heard they paved some curbs later on but now i'll never know damn townsfolk |
Thanks to the OP for starting the ball rolling.
I did both Mosport tracks last year. I had an absolute BLAST. I'm still very much a Noob when it comes to the track, but I learned soooo much in just two outings. I encourage anyone who has wanted to get out to a track, but never has, to get out there and do it. It costs less than going to Canada's Wonderland, and it's more fun! Any events at the Mosport DDT track I would definitely be in on. I think the DDT is better suited for the twins, plus it would be much less expensive. Cayuga - maybe, I don't know anything about the track. Mosport - yes DDT, or GP if price is right Shannonville - no, a little too far Calabogie - no, way too far Also, not to go too far off topic, what about a FR-S/BRZ group HPDE session? I want to do training, but don't really know the ins and outs of it. If there were enough of us, it could be focused training of the Toyubaru handling dynamics (or am I putting too much thought into that?) Looking forward to 2013! |
