Trackrecorder plugin video and screenshots. Fricken cool. In torque go to settings > plugins > other plugins.

It's free

I found a random list and highlighted the ones I feel are important. I know not all are supported in most cars. Asides from the "cool" factor i'd love to get some real world uses out of our OBDII system. Oil Temp and Coolant Temp is a big plus for track days.
Interested as well. Coolant temp we already have a gauge for and I am sure it registers through OBDII, but if we can get oil temp through one of these programs that would be awesome. I know my Si does not measure oil temps.

Would definitely be handy for the track but also in winter to help let you know when it is ok to start pushing the car. I always tried to give it several minutes after my coolant was up to operating temperature before flogging my Si since I had no idea what the oil temperature was.

That's badass. Unfortunately it would probably make my mediocre LG implode doing all that at once.

Although its a lot more expensive the RomRaider guys recommend the Tactrix cable:
http://www.tactrix.com/index.php?opt...hk=1&Itemid=53

This is probably the best route into OpenSource tuning on the FRS/BRZ, once they understand how to re-flash the firmware.
http://www.romraider.com/forum/viewt...8475&hilit=BRZ

I don't have one yet, but it's on my shopping list for when my LegacyGT arrives.

Thought this wud be helpful for everyone interested in the torque app or any other obd2 app. Shows data reading speeds according to the type of obd2 device you have. Also showing you everything our cars support. Oil temp is not one of them. I didnt have faster communication on at the time so the pid read speed is usually higher i would think

Did you ever try this with an iPhone? Just curious before I order one...

Ha...just got this going today in my BRZ...works flawlessly.. I will say you will have to assign it a different channel on the factory Blutooth..as it conflicts with the Phone/radio Blutooth so you have to re-assign the module and the phone so it doesn't have a conflict..

^ this.

Got it from ebay for 9 dollars. Refresh rate is about .5 second delay... similar between a 56k dial up connection and DSL. For $9 - $11 its worth it

Did you manage to get oil temp at all?

I hope someone can work this out as my HKS OB-Link does but works with android only and not iPhone. And is US$250 without the tablet cost. Does look pretty mounted in the car but would like to have an iPhone alternative and a cheaper solution for the FT86 club community.

What phone? Some people were saying a while ago that their 11 dollar ELMwhatever had respectably fast refresh, but I was getting a 0.5 second resolution, and they said it might be my phone that's slow. I'm just sorta hoping that when I upgrade my POS phone to a GS3 or something that it'll be faster XD

I use to have a samsung sidekick, I just bought a Galaxy S3 and have yet to try it on my car. I will try tomorrow and see if I notice any improvement over the sidekick.

I am 90% certain that it can read oil temp but I will try tomorrow on the BRZ and let you know. I do not have an iPhone but I think the torque app should be able to do the same thing regardless of what phone youre using?

Thanks. Give it a go please. Everyone else using the torque app have failed to get oil temp in real time. Seems it is listed in the stuff you should be able to read and has a PID but doesn't seem to work.

Be very keen to see how you get on.

Lots of discussion on trying to get it to work here that might be of interest to you.
