I think I plugged mine in from the engine bay because that's how it is stock.

Just did what should be dubbed the "Lowe's Noise Generator Delete". Surprised out how much quieter the interior appeared to get.

I'm still kind of nervous about doing this mod, just to be clear you remove the noise generator tube from the intake all the way to where it feeds into the car and the little box underneath the intake tube. Cap the holes on the intake tube and plug the small hole that leads into the cabin. Is that correct?

Just did this a couple nights ago. Significant decrease in cabin noise in my opinion.

I plugged the hole at the cabin, the 2 holes in the intake tube, and the extra chamber on the air filter box, so its just a straight shot from the inlet through the filter. I used various caps off of plastic jugs and clamped them in place except for the one on the actual air box, I secured that one from inside the box with some expoxy. This is just a temporary intake until I get time to figure out whether or not to go turbo or S/C. The sound difference inside is slightly better, I think the engine sound changed a little.

I don't get why people want to remove this?

It's not simulated for fake, you're hearing the actual engine rev.

For me, when I want to hear the engine, I will turn off the stereo. When I want to hear the stereo, I don't need an extra 3-4 db being piped in. Especially at high RPM.

I don't need a gimmick to hear my revs. I'll deal with that with muffler delete and/or CAI.

Say no to gimmicky fake growl tubes.

It's not in the passenger footwell, it's in the driver's footwell. Don't forget this is a Japanese car, designed for RHD.

This may be a cheaper option.

It may seem a little big, but it fits right in. All together it's cheap, less than $4 and works. Sorry for the over exposed white cap.

so simple yet effective. i'm driving my ass to lowes soon and doing this. THANK YOU!!!
