I was able to pick up 2 brand new from a local. The price was ridiculously good. I'm stuck with the +45, but the photos I've seen still look good and better than stock.

I'm not thrilled to run the stock 215s but I don't want to waste them either. I'll prob go with a 235/40 when they wear down.

Good call. I'll have to give him a call tomorrow for wheels and lug nuts.

And I wasn't going to rush into any mods

Gotcha. I read it as he was ordering tyres however after re-reading I now understand he is ordering wheels.

Since you have to order 2, you could get a pair of +35's for the rear. You wouldn't be able to rotate without dismounting but it would look a little more flush.

Federal 595RS-R fitment on a 17x7.5 wheel

I've been trying to do much research on these tires and have almost concluded that they run ~18mm wider than they actually state.

Does anyone have personal experience with these?

I was looking at purchasing 225/45/R17's, but am considering going down to 215's instead. I'm not sure if my wheels are wide enough to appropriately accommodate these Federals.

Extreme summer tires generally run wider than eco tires. Bridgestone re11 215/45/17 can accommodate up to 8" wide tires. I would recommend sticking with 215.

Also, wider does not always mean better. Wider tires will take a longer time to reach its optimal operating temperature. 215 is plenty wide for our cars given their power/weight IMO.

what? he's not buying new tires?

the turanza is just the tire they started using in place of the bichelins that the car originally came with. it's an OEM tire.

Would you go 205/45/17 on the stock wheels? Or stick with 215/45/17? I know from NASIOC they run wide.

Looking at running a similar setup with the same rubber. Would love to hear the thoughts of the wheel gurus here. Subbed.
