Here you go. Exact dimensions for the plugs I machined.

Thanks for the dimensions. I went the cheap route, went to home depot with your numbers and found two plugs that match (1 1/2" test plug and 1/2" plumbing screw-type plug) and removed the noise generator. I'll probably do something better looking in the future, but for now, I'm just seeing if I notice a difference.

Thanks

Came home after BEATING my car, and was thinking, it's the intake side; it's probably nowhere near as hot as I think it is. Sure enough, opened the hood, and wrapped my hand around the intake pipe.

Warm at best.

Not too worried about melting, now I just need the stupid rain to let up so I can actually DO the swap >.<

It looks like Delrin. Could be ABS or Nylon, but all of them should be up to the task.

Pulled the noise generator during lunch. I didn't have a lot of time, so I couldn't really get it to temp and romp on it, but it's EASILY quieter than before. Like a LOT quieter.

I can hear the exhaust now, albeit it's still quiet, but I can hear it. I didn't realize just how much noise that tube was making. It's still wet and nasty here, but I'm thinking I'm going to tape off the diaphragm for now (I removed the one tube altogether), and if I decide to switch back, at least I don't need to re-run all of the hoses, just pull the tape and throw the hose back on.

Hoping to get the resonator plug in tonight.

So you pulled the tube off and didn't plug either open end? That could be very very bad, as you're sucking in unfiltered air into your engine.

My being one that doesn't have a lathe nor know any one that does, I will start checking ebay on a regular basis. I don't think it will be too long before someone will have a kit available for doing this and I'll surely grab it up.

No, I pulled the noise tube off and plugged the hole with the plug my friend made for me

Pulled the resonator that night and plugged it as well

Really liking the sound the car makes now, and I'd swear the throttle response is a bit more "unfiltered" It feels even sharper and more immediate now

Where does that go? Directly into/onto the firewall?
