I went for a manual. I bought this car as a daily driver, and typically my DDs are auto, while the weekend cars are manual. However, with this car, I waited the extra time to get a manual. I just couldn't picture driving this car with anything else.

I will say this though, I will not rag on anyone for getting an auto... This car has the best working and most involving automatic I have ever driven. I really don't think it would take too much away from the experience. Yes, I have driven both.
i agree! drove both! was impressed with the "slush" box,BUT it ain't no manual, and it NEEDS to be with me,because it's all i've driven my whole life, and too concerned i would never get used to the auto! i guess you could say that it's an "event physcological!"

FRS MT because RACECAR. The only AT that I own is my '94 Corolla, and that is because an old lady sold it to me for $500 with 70k miles on it.

I got a manual. My left foot is acting up for the first time ever. I've mostly driven manuals; so, getting a manual in this car was a no brainer. But, now I'm thinking I might have to replace this car with an automatic if my foot doesn't get better.

I got a manual, because... Well, because it makes me feel cooler
And because it keeps me entertained while I'm driving. But I don't blame anyone for getting the AT. Personal preference I suppose.

Doesn't it make sense that the car knows when to shift gears better than you do? The only way you will get more milage with MT is with Neutral driving. Me driving 80 on the freeway with cruise control gives me 40mpg. Going 45 on a street with cruise control and no breaking gives me 60+mpg. Automatic gives more MPG unlike the old times.

lol i think its a sports car with lots of potential rather than a race car bro. Don't you think a race car has more power?

Manual. Only way I'll ever buy anything. Automatics of any variety bore me to tears.

That's so disappointing to hear. As more and more people abandon manual transmission cars, it will be harder to find them in the future. I was hoping that cars like these would help infuse more manual transmission drivers into the mix and make manufacturers see that there are still plenty of people who want to drive manual transmission vehicles.

BTW, after all those years of driving stick, what made you want to switch to a conventional automatic? I'm the same age as you and I've been driving stick since the age of 17....and I still don't want to drive anything but a stick. I don't think that will ever change for me, unless something drastic happens, like I blow out my left knee or something.

Actually, most cars use more fuel if you put them in neutral to coast than they do if you leave them in gear while coasting. That's because the fuel pulse can shut down completely when coating in gear, but coasting in neutral ALWAYS requires the use of fuel to allow the engine to idle.
