Just a thought, i think the poll on the manual is higher because the vast majority of the people on this forum are car enthusiasts somewhat, and car enthusiasts have a trend of preferring manual cars, any one have the sales for the FR-S/BRZ separated by their transmission sales?

MT FR-S in Charcoal and wouldn't have it any other way. A/C off, traction and stability off, and windows down.
Speaking of the a/c, I have noticed a pretty big difference in performance when I have my a/c off. Anyone else? The car just seems a bit peppier and the revs seem to drop and climb faster. |

I don't see an option for an automated manual =]. My Evo X MR is the twin-clutch automated manual, but my SRT-4 is a 5-speed manual.
I prefer the shifting experience in the SRT-4 greatly over the Evo. The Evo shifts are amazing, better than any human being could possibly shift, both for upshifts and for downshifts, and most certainly make it a faster car around a track than a 5-speed Evo, but it's simply less engaging. I'll take a slower manual shifted car over a faster automatic/automated car, simply for the joy of driving. Mine will be a manual FR-S. |

I can't stand it when i'm trying to accelerate quickly while the assists are forcing me to back off. As far as differences go, it is during spirited driving only. If you're just putting around town, you won't notice a thing. I always turn them off unless it's pouring rain... I'm also averaging about 28mpg , which is low compared to the 32mpg while I was breaking her in. :/

MT for better engine control and better throttle response. Haven't driven an automatic in decades.

You don't want to end up like this: http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=8821 The stability control on these cars is not nearly as aggressive as some older systems and if you're driving responsibly you shouldn't notice it at all. Don't end up in a ditch or a telephone pole. Don't switch your VSC off.

AT because they don't require clutch changes, manuals suck for driving in stop and go traffic, and I'm old and have driven enough manuals to cover my lifespan.

Have you driven a rwd with no TCS or VSC before? It's like riding a bike to me, especially with a car with only 200hp and 151tq, but I learned with a '07 350z 6-spd and a completely raw 598ci 800hp 5-speed '55 Bel-air, so I may be a little more experienced than most people... lol!

AT all the way. Apparently I have 2 left feet - tried to learn on a friend's car until the CEL came on. The FR-S AT is the best AT that I have driven to date. No regrets - especially when I have had few too many and then my wife can drive get us home.
