I agree with the others that you are overcocking it with this title and thread. Posting in this forum is quite powerful with XX% of the 86 marked as users. We should use this power when appropriate.

Honest mistake. I had an exhaust shipped to me with 3 of the 6 bolts needed. The stock downpipe had bolts welded to it but my catless one did not. No big deal, I just let them know and went out and spent a few bucks to buy a few. Sounds like they are making good on getting you the part, but it does suck having to wait.

Lol. I'll admit, it does feel a bit rough but...lol. Also, giving kids cell phones at age 8? Ipads, laptops, etc, too? WTF are 8 year olds doing where they need laptpos and cell phones? What happened to riding bikes and exploring your town with friends, with the only form of contact being a house phone? You fell off or got hurt and you rode your bike back home the 3 miles before crying to mommy for a band aid. Nowadays, kids are getting physically hurt because i breathed too hard.

Perhaps the thread title is misleading.. mods feel free to change it to "Perrin Exhaust parts missing" or whatever will make the forum police happy

My intent was to inform buyers to beware of tearing into their cars before unpacking and verifying the parts are there. Who knows if the same drunk that packed mine packed a whole batch the same way and some others could experience the same thing.

I also intended to paint the picture of my anticipation to have my new exhaust arrive and installed so I could hear the beautiful sound only to be disappointed by not having a part that I could not find anywhere in town. Some of you think that was overdone and that's fine. I will edit the OP to make sure you all can sleep at night.

I typically do check that all the parts are included before starting a job, however this situation was a bit unique. Since I knew the UPS guy would be bringing it to my house at his usual time yesterday I decided to get a head start and get the car ready to install it. I thought it was perfect timing when the UPS guy showed up just as I had removed the last piece of my stock exhaust. In hindsight it was premature to get started before I knew everything was included.

As I stated in my original post and as some of you have pointed out, two mistakes were made 1.) required parts weren't included and 2.) I didn't verify the parts were there before starting the project. As I also stated in my original post, Perrin is doing the right thing in over-nighting the missing part and I am in no way telling people not to purchase from them.

I just got my car a couple weeks ago and have learned a lot from this site. However I have noticed that in every thread someone has something smart ass to say or insult someone somehow. Other car enthusiast forums I have belonged to certainly have this happen but not to the degree of this site. Perhaps it's the age demographic difference.

Having said that, I will still remain on the site as an observer but won't likely be posting any more of my experiences.

Everyone enjoy their cars and drive safe!

There is a lot of drama going on in the forum right now. I think you have made it very clear what you intended with the thread. If someone interpreted the title differently, they just needed to read your first post and boom, everything is clear. Why do people feel they need to revolve over and over again and tell you the same sh*t someone already told you (title is misleading) is beyond my understanding.

Don't pay attention. you know what you meant and your message is clear. Thanks for sharing your experience

While not everyone needs to chime in with the same response, using the phrase "the same drunk" is out of line--especially as they are doing their best to rectify the situation.

Sorry to chime in a little late here. I didn't speak to sajonf when he called, but I am aware of the missing part, and apologize about it. We strive to get everything right the first time, since we ship parts all over the world! We have a list of parts every kit should have and somehow this one looks to not have gotten the correct parts.

We are overnighting the part Saturday delivery, so the part will be received tomorrow. Immediately after you called, we checked every exhaust we had on the shelf to make sure there weren't any others that had the same problem.

Sorry again for the missing part, we hope you can enjoy the exhaust soon!

Thanks for the great service. I appreciate you making it right for me. I was a bit pissed when I posted last night so it was too harsh (more pissed at myself actually for having torn the car apart already). That's why edited the OP to contain just the facts without the emotion.

Your exhaust appears to be top notch quality and your customer service has been great. Folks please do not hesitate to purchase products from these guys.

It seems as if "Saj" is being attacked for his/her title. I'd like to point out that it was this exact title that caught my eye and led me to read the posting. Not that I've read it, I know! In the event I plan to order this part, I can not ask the distributor to verify the "V" clamp is present.

Only if all computers had a device where you weren't allowed to post when angry. Like a bitch slap device. We'd all live in a better world. LMAO!

In any case, seems like the issue has been corrected and the world is a better place. Just to add my two cents. My experience with Perrin has been TOP SHELF and I highly recommend them, but as always each individual should do their own due diligence before making any purchase.

Well said! Like those breathalyzers devices on cars LOL.

Anyway like you said the issue has been corrected and the world is a better place.

Sorry if the post ruffled people's feathers - if I could change the thread title I would. Peace!
