BEWARE! Headquarter Scion!

That first 86 car they had on display? Just went up for sale. I went to go buy it today. They told me the car had no options which when it was on display it didn't have a thing. I got there and the story behind the owner not picking it up was he was over seas.....

They just, today, installed tints, nitro filled tires, pinstripe, and a protectant. All for the wonderful price of $3999.95!

For a total price of $29190 before taxes.....

I spoke with the general manger and he told me they couldn't drop $1 off the price because that is the true market value of the car...I also told him for that price Ill get a BRZ limited which comes with (explained all the goodies) he then told me the scion looks alot better then the Subaru. I said its the same car, he told me its not even the same on the outside.....I put a bet on the table....

If the Subaru looks like the Scion you take those $4K off the price. He didn't say anything. Got on Subaru.com and he said yeah they kinda look them same. I said to myself. WOOOOOWWWWW and just said if he cant give me MSRP im out the door. So I left.

Im sorry but I feel really bad for the poor soul who pays $4K for $800 bucks worth of dealer installed options.

What pisses me off is that the car was perfect while it was waiting for the first 86 guy to show up. It didn't even have the trunk carpet! Absolutely no options! Now since its up for sale they installed some BS options and want $4K extra for the car. I could have been in a whiteout FRS driving home today.

Time and time again Scion tells me they dont do this, and yet time and time again I hear about bullshit like this happening.

Scion, you wanna know why your brand is 90% underwater, its shit like this. Learn to reign in your dealership network or you are gonna go bust. Kthx.

edit: btws, my dealership was kinda asshatty too, and had very pooor sales etiquette.

Has anyone pointed this out to their Scion regional or district manager?

I had a Subaru dealer tell me i could pick up a car next week, then when i said I wouldn't pay for any extras at all, so to not even bother trying...I got an e-mail 30min later saying It wasn't available and had been sold to a "Corp. Exec." after i was given first right of refusal and committed to buying it....

Sent the E-mail chain to SOA (subaru of america) and now the dealer is dodging SOA phone calls...

lol, typical scion.

just go get the BRZ and call it a day.

I saw the BRZ in person, and while the FRS i feel needs a bodykit to look good...the BRZ looks fine without anything. Although I would do a duck lip instead of the spoiler they have on the BRZ.

what's a Ripped-off ! I suggest don't ever buy any add-on from dealer to original stocked 86. The 86 is the car you want it clean original then you take it home and personalize and customize the way you want it. Cars will be available at dealers in few months for sales! Shouldn't be rushed like iphone !

Haha nitrogen filled tires is a "Option"? Wonder how much they take on for that. I think it costs me about $15 to get my nitrogen tank filled and it took me about a year and a half to go through it.

What an A-Hol.... I hope dealers in Miami are up for a rude awakening. (Hope because there 's a lot of people here who don't care or value money at all). Go get the BRZ.

I am very grateful this came to light, because I was gonna go check the car out. But, now idk who to trust here. Miami's no good, Maroone Scion has NOTHING yet until July & idk about all the other Broward Toyota/Scion dealers.

The person who posted this obviously didn't read the PURE pricing information as is displayed on scion.com It states very clear that the Scion product does have a pure price.

If the people reading this know that the Scion FR-S just came out and the white one that came to Headquarter Scion was the first received of all the models inbound. Not all the vehicles will have added equipment, but Headquarter Scion chose to add it after the original buyer defaulted as mentioned because it is true the customer was said to be over seas and the vehicle became available. It then became the display vehicle.

Headquarter Scion is the only dealer with available Scion Fr-S inventory. Most dealers are charging well over $5000 above MSRP, which Headquarter Scion is not doing. I have done my homework.

It is true that the pure price cannot be negotiated even a dollar. If you want to know more about pure pricing you can read for youself from the manufacturer at www.scion.com and select the pure pricing tab for information.

In regards to the poster of this comment you dont have to buy the display vehicle as you can buy an incoming model which has no options. Nobody said you had to buy that vehicle since it was made into a display vehicle for customers to see options they can add. That's what I'm doing and Headquarter Scion is treating me very well.

Please visit www.scion.com and learn more about pure pricing and dont mislead people by posting information that is misleading or not well informed. Headquarter Scion is treating me well and I'm very happy with them and my new purchase arriving this week.

You can trust Headquarter Scion. I'm buying with them and they are treating me well. Nobody is forcing anybody to buy the display vehicle.

I bought with them and can tell you that the information you posted above is only partially true, but very misleading and misinformed. See my response.

Floridaguy: you reported the op for advertising and rude comments. It's not his fault your dealership is trying to overcharge on the frs. If anything it's your posts that were advertising and commercial in nature.

Come to Tampa and buy one at msrp all day long. All dealers are not charging for bs addons.

lol so they are not actually marking up the vehicle but are looking for someone to give them $4000 in options they installed which I would happily pay 800 for those options but 4000. they can keep it!
