There are some hurdles to an AP rhd kit, on the tune side we run different fuels, on the kit side I think the fmic hot side, intake and downpipe/turbo section would need redoing and probably needs an internally gated turbo and plumbed back BOV.

The turbo did. The valley is caused by intake resonance which results in a low volumetric efficiency at that rpm range.

Warranty <<< vs >>> Moar powah!

I pity you guys in the States as much as I envy you for having this awesome kit to consider now.

Luckily I don't have a good ECUtek tuner anywhere near me in Dubai so this kit is probably a no-no for me.

That torque. That power curve. Perfect.

Is that theory or have you got some evidence the torque dip is caused by intake resonance?
It just doesn't make sense that they would have built a crap intake to cause that. Someone mentioned emissions and tuning specifically at that rpm range to satisfy euro? requirements resulting in a power loss. That makes more sense and an ECU tweak would soon fix it up.

Its like 75HP on the big end. I don't plan on stopping at 4psi. I really thought even w/ the high compression we would be around 8 and 12-14 w/ e85 or methanol injection. We will wait and see til we can turn it up.

But it's a lot of money for 50hp.

Will most likely move the compression to 10-10.5. Seems to be a good area we use in alot of other cars. You'll have alot of low end grunt and still be able to maintain alot of cylinder pressure.

Don, with high HP targets and the pistons you plan to use for forged builds etc, will you be lowering the compression ratio?

We'll have this ironed out very well that a simple flash tune will work just fine.

Keep in mind with this thing's low weight 50hp gives it the same lb/hp as a stock STI, and with RWD too much power will mean you have to uprade a lot of other things that will just add weight and diminish returns. Personally I think the way he has it now is perfect. Nice flat torque curve, should spool instantly, just enough of a power bump to make it snap your neck back but not so much to make it impossible to control.

Jalopnik

Normally this would be a good thing, but you got on Jalopnik. They confused crank with wheel hp and gave a disappointing review. I set 'em straight with it and they edited their article, but just changed the number. hopefully they'll edit the whole thing and realize how awesome this is. http://jalopnik.com/5927631/the-firs...-13-horsepower

Changing the intake won't effect the dip, and no one has posted any ability to remove the dip completely with a tune, either.

I don't know enough about intake resonance to comment further, but I am sure someone has more info to enlighten us all.
