i did have a chance to confirm while i was running for parts it turns out i didn't need. 2nd gear on 2014's will at least touch 59mph. i didn't have a chance to hit fuel cut, so 61mph should be correct.

I was cruising around 4th gear at 40km/h and decided to put in neutral as I was coming to the stop light... and had the clutch in for a good 5-10 seconds, then all of a sudden the light turned green

so then I decided 3rd gear would be best at 30km/h... as I was slowly pushing it into 3rd, I heard this faint grind so I backed off and put it in firmly with no issue.

My question is... is this normal? and would the issue be I was holding the clutch in to long? so the shaft or gear (whichever is disengaged) slow down and not mesh?

this was all done during clutch fully depressed on a 2015 Subaru BRZ 45k KM.

thanks in advance
I had my clutch replaced a few months ago (the bad throwout bearing required it). Mine grinds all over the place now. When I first got it back, it was really hard to get it out of first gear when it was cold. They changed the fluid and now it grinds about a third of the time. Fourth gear is the least likely to grind.

Apparently the clutch is not adjustable on these new cars.

LotsaMiles: clutch pedal travel is adjustable on twins though. And sometimes might be needed, eg. if some previous owner or oneself (or IIRC there was even one case where it was misadjusted on stock car), resulting in slight clutch drag even fully pressed, and as result - hard to engage gears.
