I had a catastrophic oil cooler failure in my old 911 while racing. Rear oil cooler on the front of the engine split open. Luckily it all blew on the motor making an instant major cloud, giant red light went off on the dash, and I got it shut down with no damage. Tower it home and dropped the powertrain again. Just sharing.

About 20k miles on a Mocal 19-row cooler kit from MAP Performance. I've never gotten hot oil since, and the car ran great in track days. No leaks from the system either, at least not once I got a proper-sized wrench.

I'm using this for about a year and nothing happened, not recommending, just telling

I'm sure it's fine. Expensive ones fail too. Just less often, we hope.

If the cooler was larger than the wall it could survive!

I ran a rev 9 ebay cooler with mocal sandwich plate for 9 months (20k miles) with my sbd turbo kit. it never leaked. the temps stayed under 220 on highway pulls. i never tracked it so i cant say how it wouldve held up to constant high temps. if all your doing is daily driving, with occasional spirited runs you dont always need $700 racecar parts despite popular belief. the kit in total cost me $220.

9 months is not a test or a long time.

The first thing I did was put some shitty pulleys on my car. They chewed up a belt and the bearings failed in every single one. This was in 3,000km. Never again.

Research, buy the best you can or don't do it at all is my opinion now.

Don't cheap out when it comes to an oil cooler. Stick with proven companies.
