Running non-ethanol gas silences mine. Mine also only seem to come out at temperatures over 45 degrees f. They are totally silent in winter

I seem to have fewer crickets using E95. I don't think anyone knows why the pump makes noise, or how to fix it. I don't worry about it, I just preten it is a SC when I have them.

2017 86, always run 98ron.
The fuel system has never seen ethanol. Crickets started around 7k km.

What's a 'squeaking accessory belt' when it's at home? BTW, my car had its fuel pump changed (under warranty).. made a difference but still get the occasional cricket, depends upon weather and if I've filled it up with BP fuel instead of Shell. |

Are we really still bitching about this? No offense, but surely you all have figured out after 6 years that it's the fuel injection system, right? I laugh on Mustang forums because they complain about a "ticking" noise in 18+ MY's and I'm like "welcome to the direct injection club boys, now you know how us back at ft86 feel". But seriously, the crickets are here to stay, it's a byproduct of the direct fuel injection, not a whole lot you can do about it. My advice? Make your car's idle as deep and loud as possible. Drowns out the crickets when your exhaust is highly illegal
