Also, as I happen to work at a parts store, I looked up brake pads for the normal and brembos... Brembos were cheaper lol Also keep in mind that even on the street, nobody has ever said "gee, I wish I didn't have these great brakes" right after avoiding an accident because of said brakes... |

Yeah I need that, lol. Also don't forget you have to be careful not to nick the paint, unlike the base unpainted calipers haha.
Porsches also have brake pad sensors which can be a PITA because a lot of aftermarket pads have no where to put them, ugh.

Plus, I will admit, I did occasionally overheat the brakes to the point of the brake pedal dropping to the floor while driving enthusiastically on vehicles I've previously owned, so maybe I should shut up about not needing Brembos LOL. |

I would think that has more to do with cooling and pad compound than anything else.
You can and will overheat the pads and fluid, if you try hard enough, as I am sure you know. For the price and the additional content you get, I think it is a great option for the street or up to intermediate use cases. If we are going to talk about a great solution for this platform, I would be directing you to AP Racing brake solution (sprint or endurance) for a kit I would back (with hub cooling in the endurance kit). For the price, that is sweet. For the weight and power of this car, I am not sure why would need more braking and cooling for the brakes than that. When you consider the value of the upgraded dampers and wheels the brake package is almost free. Why would somebody not get them if they could?

So..what exactly is it about these PP wheels that make them such a great value? is it just the weight lose? or is there something else? |

The biggest reason, other than fitting the brakes, is that they are 7.5". You can run a 225/235 on there without issue. Please see 04 STi.
Other than that, nothing. |
