The PP would add some towards resale... but not the full $1300 or so, maybe half that. Kind of like adding nice wheels to your car, adds $500 ish .

If you don't track, or don't use breaks a lot, I don't see much point in going Brembo's. You could get the PP , then take off the Brembo brakes to sell as new (as I've seen some people do) which would recoupe some of the $1300 cost, then the suspension won't cost you that much. Just an idea. Offset the cost of the Sachs suspension, could be a great way to go. Not sure on how much OE brake calipers/rotors would then be?!

One thing that hasn't been mentioned yet but you deal with on every drive......

I have no direct BRZ comparisons, but from prior experience on other cars fixed 4-piston calipers (such as Brembos) give better brake feel and modulation control than the 'stock' sliding calipers.

I'm in the 'no-brainer' camp. Upgraded wheels, shocks and brakes for $1200. For me, that $1200 saved me $3000-5000 in mods.

Honestly from the sound of your postings you need to be looking at an old Miata or civic or something if you want to get in to a daily with low cost and to learn about cars.

Wow amazing that you got 70k on original brakes! I can barely muster 30k on a typical car!

But yeah this is something to consider, if only replacing brakes once every 30k or more, maybe the Brembos will be worth it.

I scratched off the Miata completely (old or new) due to this being my only car and the Miata being a very impractical car. Also, by now I personally really didn't like it.

I could go for used BRZ but I'm honestly leaning towards a new car for now and most likely keep it for a very long time.

Insert any basic, old, easily repairable, cheap vehicle then. A newer camry / corolla might fit your needs as well if you want something newer.

A good amount of the miles are freeway but I do regular spirited B road driving also. I also never engine break, these cars are so light it really helps the brakes last.

If you're satisfied with a Camry / Corolla then by all means go for it... good luck to you and goodbye

The rest is in the rotor which if you can find a two piece rotor with an aluminum hat it will cut that weight a LOT. DBA, StopTech or some other company will likely come out with them soon.

The PP was an absolute no-brainer for me. I track my car, and the brakes, wheels, and Sachs shocks/struts are all great upgrades. Also, I don't believe anyone has mentioned how much faster and easier it is to change pads on the Brembos. No need to remove a caliper, simply pull a pin, retract the pistons, pull the old pads out the top and repeat the process backwards for the new pads. First time you change pads on the Brembos, you'll be thanking yourself for buying the PP.

I think, like most comments here, you have to be utilizing the additional benefits, and they are no brainers. If you aren't doing track days or running autoxes were an 7.5" rim, better OEM struts or easier brakes to change that won't spread have value, you aren't the target audience for the package.

The only real compromises that I see are the increased offset needed to clear the caliper face, increased pad cost from OEM and marginal increased weight.

As long as the car (or tS) isn't re-classed in Solo II, it looks like a win/win in my book.

I don't track my car, nor do I autox it. That said, for my $$ it's still a no brainer because it offers an incredible value for the dollar. I have no good reason to put a bbk on the car or to run out and buy higher end shocks and other suspension pieces, but if the factory will not only supply them, but install them for a fraction of the cost of adding them after market, I'm in.

OP here

Thanks everyone for your valuable feedback,

I ended up going for the performance pack after learning from people here that Brembo consumables are not that expensive through 3rd party and just as good if not better.

Also, I did want that better suspension as well..
