of course they add weight to the car. you're putting something on the car that wasn't there before.

Worth it in which way? It's a cosmetic modification. If you think the looks are worth it, then it's worth it to you. These pieces will add weight, but less than a passenger.

Unless you are buying some sort of anti-gravety body kit... yes it will add weight.

Also, to add to the discussion, you won't notice any difference unless you're a professional driver on a race course. You are not going to need more downforce while driving 55 down the highway or when stuck in traffic.

I love how concerned everyone is about weight on these vehicles, yet most people could afford to loose a few lbs themselves but instead prefer to take out their spare tire or something useful for that extra edge of performance.

My favorite is the popularity of adding hood struts and/or a strut tower bar. You're adding weight high and in the front, exactly where you don't want it, while bitching about how heavy most cars are. Everyone jerks it out over how lightweight these cars are, then they go add 50 pounds of body kits, braces, spoilers, foglights, hood struts, and other crap the day they buy it.

It's usually good for a 1 mpg increase.

hey it would be funny to meet some one that takes this whole ” light weight” thing to the level of a jocky or wrestler. ”HELL YA! I just took a dump and puked the celery I had this morning totally going to make it to work in only 3 min.”
