That's a bummer. Though, most trucks being sold today aren't even used as trucks so I'm sure that has something to do with it.

Yep. I went truck shopping at the Chevy dealer almost 3 years ago and they told me MT was no longer available, period. I couldn't believe it.

If your referring to me, not attacking at all, I've owned many MT cars and prefer to have the option. I even said a few posts up I wish I had purchased the CTS-V Wagon when it was available with a stick, as I had wanted one at the time.

Also, I happen to like manual windows......

My apologies, I took it as you being condescending when you were actually being serious about the roll ups.

No worries..it was intended as a bit tongue-in-cheek..

Most of trucks are sold in luxury trims:

What really floors me is the almost total disappearance of MT in pick up trucks. There was a day not that long ago when getting an AT pickup was hard to do but now there are almost none with MT even as an option. A buddy went looking for a half ton truck with a MT last year and they simply are no longer available in any make. There is only one heavy duty and the rest are all midsize. Even then they are very few.
The link above kinda says why. Even truck sales are luxury. Then there is this:

Like spinners on Hummers, people don’t really use trucks.

Neato.

You're speaking to the wrong person about using trucks the way they're intended. I regularly tow Argos, ATVs and UTVs. I'm regularly smashing the undercarriage on rocks and bumps and have been stuck in mud pits more often than I care to admit. And I'm regularly hauling 400+ pounds.

If I'm buying a truck, it's strictly for a utilitarian purpose. I understand that plenty of people who buy trucks buy them as a status symbol, but I'm not one of them.

And again, people buying trucks as luxury items sure as shit don't want to shift on their own. I've actually used a truck enough to know that I'd rather row my own, especially when it comes to towing something through shitty terrain.

Or, alternatively, the truck on the left has decent paint that can stand up to a car wash, and the one on the right is afraid if he washes the mud off his Subaru paint he'll be left with bare metal.

Not that I'm bitter about our paint or anything....

Like Rolex desk divers.

They don't even sell the Land Cruiser here up north but only the Lexus version.
