My insurance story (Venting)
So a few weeks ago my FR-S was parked in an parking lot at the last parking spot so that only the passenger side has someone parking next to me (I've parked in the same spot with my last car for 6 years.) and my FR-S had been there for a whole 15 min before I looked over at it to see someone with a trailer on their truck back into my car
he even had his wife outside "guiding" him. So I walk over and let her know that she just had him back up into my car, to this she acts like she didn't notice and lets me know that she'll will him in a little bit I'm not waiting lol so i walk over and let the driver know, he gets out of his car and starts yelling at his wife in Spanish (which I speak but they thought i didn't) He asks her why she didn't tell him and she says that she tried to tell him but he didn't hear her. So the guys an ass and I wait 2 hrs for him to produce his insurance info, which he finally hands over while I'm on the phone calling the cops. I let the cops know he does have proof of insurance and that he is now cooperating and get off the phone. I write down all his info and take pictures of it too. I reported the accident that day to his insurance to find out that the phone number they have for him is out dated and they can't get a hold of him and after two weeks I was about to go through my insurance when in the middle of my to my claims service call I get a call from his insurance saying they finally found him/ got a hold of him.At this point I'm relieved that they are finally taking fault and I don't pay my deductible, when the claims adjuster expresses some concern about how much my car was damaged and his insureds coverage (At this point I Figure this ass hat has the state legal minimum car insurance coverage allowed...) luckily I get a quote at way bellow state minimum. Alright so everything is set and drop my car off and the insurance center which is about a 20min drive from my house -_- and hey give me a free rental at not charge to me and get told my car should be ready in 5 days. After 2 days I get a call what my car is ready I head over and refill the rental car, pull up in the drop off zone they take the rental I fill out some paperwork and they bring my car around. I inspect the repaired area and the rest of the car. I was very pleased with it and the lady hands me my keys and gave me instructions to NOT-WASH-THE-CAR WITH SOAP FOR A WEEK AND TO NOT WAX THE CAR FOR A MONTH. I start to open my door and repeat the instructions back to her when I notice a giant screw in my tire along with a nice washer about one inch in diameter in the wheel so I let her know and they apologize and take my car back to have the tire patched, to this I inform the lady that I've had a much smaller nail in a tire before and that it was farther from the tire wall then this one but it still constituted a completely new tire so I let her know I expected a new tire would be needed this time as well, she just pretty much said the shop would take a look. (The same shop that painted my car and most likely drove my car back to the insurance center with a LOUD giant highly visible screw in the tire) So I leave in a new free rental and wait 4 days till I finally get a call that my car is ready. I make another 20min drive to go pick the car up and refill the rental. I get there, fill out the paper work and they pull up my car I walk over to it and notice that the water marks from the last time saw it are GONE which immediately tell me they WASHED the car... So I look for the small scratched that I know my car has and they are gone... So they at least WAXED the car as well maybe even polished it... I check the repaired area and it's all wrinkly and hazy. The repair shop had BROKEN then own rules and washed and waxed the newly repainted car.... I didn't even look at the tire before I handed my keys back to the representative and let her know of the problem, they say it's a quick one day fix. So I again got into the free rental and left without my car. Today marks a week without my car and I'm on my way to pick it up AGAIN but know they have informed me that the shop was nice enough to fill it up with gas for me... I'm demanding receipts for the gas cause I don't trust them to be competent enough at this point to put 91 octane gas in the car... WISH ME LUCK ![]() ![]() ![]()

Gonna threadjack for sec...
I was at a gas station filling up one time and this woman at the pump in front of me was having the damnedest time trying to put the nozzle in her car. I'm filling up and decided to finish to hopefully have her figure it out. Pump clicks full, so I walk over and see what the hell is going on. I trace the hose to the pump and see that she just tried to force the diesel nozzle into her non-diesel Honda Civic. EL OH EL Sorry to hear about your problems OP. |

bad side: sorry to hear you had to go thru all that
good side: a bodyshop that is willing to accommodate and cooperate as well and quickly as this one is super rare to find. they might have new/untrained/ignorant workers, but at least the owner(s) are willing to amend everything that they messed up on.
