Venting -
Until AAA or whoever gets here.
Was getting in the brz, going to check my mail and get a bite to eat and a beer. Parked in my garage open the door throw in my cell, key ring, gun, etc and start to get in the car when I realize I hadn't set my house alarm. Slide out of the car, push the door to (I heard it catch but it was not fully closed) go set the alarm and come back to a locked the **** up car.... ![]() Normally no big deal, break out the cell and call... son of a bitch. My cell is laying in the pass side seat with the keys to my house, my cars, etc. Had to use a old sheetz card I had laying in my garage to break into my own house to get to my laptop. Emailed a buddy of mine like six times and finally the alerts were so annoying about getting new mail he checked them. Had him call the dealer who called roadside service. F me. This day was just a cluster from the start so this fits right in. After I have several shots this eve I need to figure out how the hell to disable this auto lock bs, need to buy a third key to hide a home, need to see if the little hidden key in the fob can be copied and carry one of those on me and/or stash one of those at home too. Vent over. |

Every time I open the trunk I'm paranoid about laying the key down and closing the lid, especially if I'm on a trip. I know how you feel.

I didn't know that the BRZ, Premium or Limited has an "Automatic Lock" feature. Does either have it?
Another Question: Which model does the OP have, Premium or Limited? If neither, the OP manually (inadvertently) locked the door by pushing in on the door lock button.. This is not usually easy to do. Last edited by BRZfan; 09-18-2013 at 08:00 PM. |

Also, just want to confirm that when one leaves the car unlocked it does NOT automatically lock. THAT helps as well. |
