I'm going to admit it was my first choice as well. Luckily my mechanic told me it was a bad idea and never did it. It's just strange evertime i see someone say "buying a new exhaust!" its always paired with "Thinking about the N1!"

It's honestly probably the price point and the fact that on Youtube vids it actually sounds pretty good. But after driving a car that has the EXACT same setup the OP was suggesting...it's one of the worst things in the world. Cant talk to anyone, cant listen to music, basically deaf when getting out of the car. Drones at even the lowest of RPM driving.
What would you recommend for an exhaust? I was looking into the Greddy Evo

IMHO join up with your local FT86 club and you can hear different exhaust systems.

Actually yes. The Greddy GT (newest version of the Evo) is amazing. Sounds deep and low and they reduced the drone from the Evo models. Only issue is that it hangs kinda low.

Also since you are getting headers try to look for an exhaust that is a bit quieter by itself. That will shape the tone much nicer. The Nameless is a good one. I run that. Also Perrin makes a great CBE

Reason being for the Greddy GT exhaust is because the place I get my parts from is a dealer of both Invidia and Greddy. So really its just a throw up between N1 or Evo. But the N1 has a lot of hate...?

There's many other online websites to buy from like frsports.com which I believe ships to Canada. www.frsport.com

As mentioned if you're getting a header & the n1 your neighbors will hate you. Any aftermarket header your power train warranty will not be honored.

Aftermarket catback exhaust is fine.
Get a Perrin CBE & header then call it a day!
Or buy a single exit exhaust like Tomei cuz that sucka is hella LOUD & you want LOUD

The power difference between UEL and EL is quite negligible with a decent tune tbh

With the headers, UEL or EL which one makes more power? I know the EL has more high end while UEL is more low to mid range, Which one is preferred

Depends what you wanna do. Track a lot? Probably EL. You'll be driving close to redline almost all of the time. Daily Driver/Spirited runs/Car meets? UEL for the nice sound and usable mid range torque

While true if you are looking at 1-2HP
BUT if you compare on a percentage if a EL makes 10 hp and UEL makes 9 is that not 10% difference in power.?

You're doing it backwards. Do the header first. Then a tune. Then the OP and front pipe. Then do the cat back.

Doesn't the header void the warranty for your car though?

If you want a nice sounding subie rumble with no drone and very little rasp you could always run my set up.

1. Gruppe-S headers and over pipe
2. Perrin inlet Intake hose with drop in filter
3. Perrin 3" catback
4. Currently stock front pipe

It's not obnoxiously loud. Sounds great. It's a real head turner. It's quiet on the highway and only loud when I press the loud pedal.
