May be easier with 2 people as one could pry the plastic away while the other pulls it out. You'll see what I mean once you remove the door panel and the plastic bit where the switches sit.

from my understanding, the glasslifters does not need to be replaced, replacing the old window switches with new ones and changing out the molding will remedy this issue?
