also on my tuned roms (iam initial set to =1 ) if iam dropped below 1 I could never reset it to one by just turning ignition off, had to drive it and do a couple of light throttle runs.

assume this will be same for stock rom ? ie 0.7 initial after flash/reset, but then ecu remembers last iam reading on startup.
Nope it doesn't drop at all while driving. Sometimes it goes up really fast or really slow depending on how I'm driving. But it never goes back down. Even when it gets to 1.0 and I get on it with full throttle pulls to the redline.

Stock ECU will reset to 0.7 on every startup. (Which I think is kinda retarded but oh well). If your IAM falls below 0.7, it will remember that reading on the next start up and not reset itself to 0.7 like it normally would.

ok that makes sense looks like ecu remembers value if its below ititial setting. ive hardly spent any time on stock map.

you could always flash a stock map with iam initial set to 1, but then it would not be stock :-)

I thought that 0.7 value was set only after the ECU reset and not on every engine startup. If it starts with this value on startup, then it is serious reason to convert to non stock

It really does reset on every startup. I thought at first I was still getting engine knock and my intake was not repaired properly. But I searched on here and it really is normal.

The dumbest part is how slow it can be to rise back up to 1.0. It doesn't rise that fast even on spirited driving. It only rises up quickly if you lug the engine at low RPM in 5th or 6th gear. Now why would anyone do that purposely unless they have an OFT and they are watching their IAM number. But if they have an OFT they would've flashed it to stage 1 or stage 2 anyway which always starts IAM at 1.0.

That's why I was saying earlier I wouldn't be surprised if some people are tracking their car with 0.7 IAM and they don't even know it.
